Modified My 04 Gto-need Opinions
I Did The Following Mods To My 04 Gto A/t: Comp Cam Xr275hr-12
Duration: @ 0.050 Lift Intake 222 Exhaust 224 112 Degree Lobe Separation Angle Lift : Intake .566 Exhaust .568 Comp Cam 7.400" Push Rods, 2800 Stall Torque Converter & Tune. Before Mods It Had 308 Rwhp, After Tune 325 Rwhp, After The Mods & Tune 362 Rwhp.
I Am Disappointed At The Number. I Thought I Should Get More H/p Than That, Am I Wrong?

Did you lock up your converter for the dyno pull?

The guy who did the mods did the dyno so i don't know if the converter was locked for the dyno pull. Would locking up the converter make a difference? I have 2800 stall converter it starts to spin the rear wheel at 2200 rpm.

I think it should be higher, i made 340rwhp with just headers exhaust and a lid. With a cam that size an ls1 should be at 380rwhp atleast i have seen some on good days do over 400 with the thunder racing 224/224. Im only 27hp lower than you with just a couple bolt ons.

So what do you think ? Do you think the guy who did the mods know what he's doing? or maybe the dyno machine number is off & not working like it should?

Hard to say, If it's a Mustang dyno it'll "read" lower #'s than a dynojet, but even for a mustang dyno they seem a little low.......there is my .02 worth

on a Mustang dyno with those mods i saw number of around 376rwhp so 367isnt too bad but if its a dynojet you need to fix something.

Don't worry about it those are good numbers. You can't believe everything you here about what you should be pushing to the wheels. Take it to the track put the mods you did to work at the track and then post the numbers and how you feel about it then. It might not be putting to the wheels what some of these guys but you will probablly run faster then them and have better 1/4 mile times then them because of your set up.

Its true, however with 337rwhp i ran a 12.87, you should be low to mid 12s with some good tires. Since you have a stall. All i was saying was when i put my 224/224 cam in i expect to get around 380-390rwhp. But i wont really know waht jsut a cam will do to this car, sicne the heads are getting port polished and the lsx intake manifold is going on.

All right its good to hear the h/p is in range with the mods. I will try it out at the track & see what it does with the factory tires.

Id say mid 12s should be a good goal to shoot for, was it a mustang dyno or a dynojet?
