Depends. Could be lifters, or could be an exhaust leak. You can take a piece of rubber hose and put one end to your ear and take the other across the engine compartment and see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from. Does the car have headers or does it still have the stock manifolds? Also, is the ticking sound consistent with engine RPM's?

Everything is stock it stays steady with the rpms the higher the rpms the louder the ticking should I worry or is this normal?

LSx engines have an inherent noise called piston slap. It sounds like a bad lifter or bent pushrod but it is just a little side to side movement of the piston in the cylinder. I was told this was done to reduce friction. Your injectors also make some noise. Have someone who knows LSx engines listen to your noise. If it is running ok then you should be fine.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

The LSx "sewing machine" noise it sounds like. It's common. How many miles on it?

That's a really go way to describe the sound. I've got about 4,700 miles on it.
