Metallic Cyclone Grey- 2005 GTO
Looking for mods
Hey I just got an 05' 6-speed and am looking to put on some light modifications. I don't wanna void my warranty and was wondering if anyone knows what is ok and whats not. I assume things such as exhaust headers and air induction shouldn't affect the warranty. Is that right? What is the best air-induction system for the GTO? I am also finding some of the quirks in the car. Like the popping sound on quick accelerations. How can that be fixed?

04 GTO QuickSilver- 95 MarkVIII wifey white
Welcome
Voiding warranty is a touch and go subject. It depends on what goes wrong with your car and what you put on it(related).I never had any warranty issues yet, but I have read on here some have certain issues with some mod.s. From what I 've read, it really depends on the dealership ?
Others will chime in on this issue,I'm sure and others(Sarge) does his own warranty work ie: Trunk latch work He-He. But Sarge is the Mad Mod Mo-Fo lol.Last edited by GOT1GOAT; 09-21-2006 at 03:07 AM.

Well mods that will not effect your warranty are (depending on CARB certification)...headers/CAI...but the absolute best mod for your car is a tune.

Machine Silver- 04 Corvette
Most external mods are CARB compliant such as cold air induction, headers and catback exhaust which should not affect warranty. However, with these mods you will need a tune up.

You have about 10-20% of your RWHP locked up in a factory tune.....get a dyno tune...unleash the beast and get a baseline........
This is my signature. It is mine. Nobody else has one like it.

Sarge, did you get the PCM tune from NP? Has anyone else gotten a PCM tune from NP? They send you a PCM that is flashed already. They give free updates and if you mod your car they will ship another tuned PCM with the changes. Is it easy to install? Does it void warranty? Pros/Cons? Thanks

My buddy took his PCM from his truck up there, and Allen did it on the bench. The tune was 99% on spot. He took it back just to have shift points changed, but if you told him ahead of time, he could do it right then. My biddy just didn't know what to tell him, his is new to this game.

I would go with AEM for the intake. You still have to clean the filter, but there's no oiling needed. You can't beat that.
