The F-bodies have a pretty nice relocation kit for the coils, but we don't. I've played with the thought of making a C channel cover for the front frame rails to mount the coils under so all you would see is the wires going to the plugs. Then grind and smoothout the valve covers.

Yeah I know what you mean. At least these move them up off the covers...and with this cover I was able to pick brackets that are specific for my MSD coils.

...back from the dead for a quick update.

Didn't have much a chance to see what upgrading the heads did for me last year. Early track runs in June put me up a few MPH and around 2 tenth from same conditions a year before. In August though I started getting some heavy smoke out of the tail pipes after a few runs at Norwalk. Bottom line was #7 was down to 80% and #3 was down to 90% and I shut her down until now.

In about 3 weeks be I'll starting the 2011 build thread featuring a ERL Performance dry sleeved 427 LS2 short block with these AFR 205's sitting on top and a special grind cam from Ed Curtis to pull it all together at 11.5:1.

... don't know what I'm going to end up with but I do know it will have a ton of bottom end with these heads.

Oh and I just took a new job in Atlanta so I'll be running the southern events once shes back together.

I hope you didn't take that job to get away from the snow! Lol

Sounds like it might be a pretty impressive setup...I know you can't give out the specs, but with that compression I take it your not going with a hugh duration cam that will bleed off a bunch of compression...maybe super tight lsa (around a 108) and mid 230's duration?

Good to see you back and with a new project! Looks like it it going to the next level, I like the 427 LS2, ( small block) and with the parts you have it should be a ground pounder. Good luck with your build and keep us posted!!!!

... you're pretty much on target with the duration. The cam is a derivation of Eds TigerShark grind. The cam's actually ground to give me some more top end. Change in piston is actually whats been used to keep it at 11.5:1 it was going to need race gas before we made that change. Lots of vendors helping to put this thing together right and interested in seeing how this comes out.

I've noticed. But with GTO-dedicated sites, what can we do?

I don't know. But I have an idea. I just have to run it past Ed.
