larger wheels and tires for increased traction

I am looking at around 400rwhp and 370 rwtq with hopes on future numbers to be about a 100 higher. I am starting to run into some traction issues. I would like to get a 295 at least under the rear if not a 315s. The car has been lowered 1" up front and 1/2" in the rear. I would like to know what changes need to be made in order to put a larger wheel 10.5" wide, and some good sized tires that will optimize traction. I really dont want the tires sticking way out the sides so if I have to cut out the wheel wells and put larger ones in then thats fine with me I just need a little help in finding what direction I should go. Any help please.

    Thanks

I put down right at 600 RWHP and these just hook.....wider does not equal more traction by the way.....
