It is not intended to replace the batt. because it is soldered in.

ok, so how long are these under warranty for?

I did manage to get it apart without destroying it. All I can say...what a f***ed up design.
So what is one to do when a few years goes by and all these remotes are junk?!

Can I get a aftermarket keyless remotes from one of these local stereo/electronics shops to work? At least I could replace the battery when the time comes.

I'm going to call up the local Pontiac dealer tomorrow and see what they say or recommend. I'll post what they tell me tomorrow.
