Jacking Points
I bet I get at least one PM a month about this....so here are the jacking points.
Most of you PM'ing need to get all four wheels off and ask about jack stands. I jack the front up on the back of the skid plate (yellow) and place two jack stands on the frame rails (green)...then in the back I jack up the rear where the diff cover mates to the diff....I use a block of wood....GM wants you to use the metal there that the diff is attached to by the way (yellow)....then I
put the jack stands under the rear bushings (green)......dont kill yourself....

lol yea i knew that was looking for the factory hangers and such for the diffrences in the exhaust setups, was going to post up elsewheres they were asking a guy was going to put a stock 05 exhaust on a 04 kinda cheap upgrade, not alot better without the manifolds in my mind ,but thats why i asked.thats one of the first things i threw out.well sold lol

don't think I haven't already tossed that around. I have a complete 06 set up at my brothers that he would give me but to be honest with you I don't want to go to the trouble of cutting the back bumper. That and it's really not much of an upgrade but the 06's do sound better IMO. His had a nice sound just bone stock. Maybe at some point I'll start modding the goat and all that'll come back off anyhow.

sorry to bring this back but i thought itd be easier than starting a new one; just needed some clarification on the "metal where the rear diff meets the cover" Does that mean just put a piece of 2x4 between your floor jack and the actual differential and you can lift the entire rear of the car? and Safely(for the car too)?

I've always looked for the frame rails when I get underneath her - the nubby on the tranny scares me.
I know it's strong enough, just can't do it. Would make my life easier.
With unibodies I'm always worried stressing metal. I wish they made vehicles with a substantial motors framed and easy to find. Use to be you'd get under the vehicle and there's the frame, plain as fuck'in day, get the bitch jack out and go to work. Today ya got crawl around, figure out where the fuck everything is at and how does it tie to this or that and where's the bracing. Will I be in alignment?
Is the wife gone poked in the ass because some sheet metal is broke.
I may not know motors that well - but I know angles and framin' up a chasis' along with setting the geometery of steering and suspensions!
Use to be alot easier
