I should update this posting on my decision.

Well time flew by and I never got my shifter yet. I spent my previous "mad money" on a set of CV8R wheels from Wheel King in Australia and the rest on Goodyear F1 Eagles. So now winter is winding down and I made a ton of $$$ in overtime plowing snow, the tax return is looking good and I hit a Super Bowl pool with a friend for 10k...I think I can swing a GMPP Rip Shifter now.

I let you all know how the install this spring.
Some threads NEED revival! A Lot of people are still lost on shifter options for these cars.

I splurged and purchased the GMM Ripshifter from JHP.
I can't believe it made it here in 3 days. Incredible! Nice looking piece.

I wish my Pontiac dealer could get my other key and glove box lock for our G8 in from Australia that quick. It's only been since November.

Soon as the weather breaks I'll get 'er installed.

    Homo.

I was the test vehicle for Hurst when it was still under Mr. Gasket in Cleveland, so I've had one longer than anybody.

It's a nice shifter, a little notchy, but no question as to which gear you're in. Very short throw, which is why the effort is increased. DUH. If the effort is too much, get a pussymatic. It won't break like B&Ms and GMMs, and doesn't have the vertical displacement or vibration issues of the aforementioned direct coupled shifters. The Billet looks to be even nicer, as it should for the difference in price.
