GTO has more RWHP but weighs more....I've seen em run many times....very close...drivers race....GTO usually get the win...but not by much....torque wins races....and Goat got plenty of that....

Its the same engine, so they make the same power. Actually, the F-Body puts more power to the ground because less drivetrain loss. But the goat makes up for that with gearing.

For the most part, its a driver's race. But best vs. best, the F-Body has been in the 12's bone stock. No LS1 GTO has done that.

Now if you're talking LS2 GTO vs F-Body, then I'd give the nod to the goat. Its putting down a lot more power.

Well Rob I was talking LS2....he didnt ask for three year old GTO so I assumed he was asking about the LS2.

Your correct.....on the LS1 in the GTO being rated at 350.....drivetrain loss is a variable...so rarely will you get three people to agree on the %.

True. I guess when I see the comparison question, I assume LS1. But I'm probably biased that way

I am not trying to argue with anyone but why is my car rated at 350 hp ( 04 GTO ) and a 98 ls1 is rated at 325. I would think that i would have about 315-320 at the wheels??? oh screw it.... i will just put my cam in this weekend and then i will get my car dynoed

close ls1's range from 280rwhp to 310 rwhp. they pull out the same numbers. the ratings are different for gm purposes.
