grill inserts

i have a question about the grill i went to the dealer to see if they had the grill inserts for my 06 gto but they told me that the grill inserts would not fit my bumper they said that i would have to change my whole front bumper is that true or that just a way for the dealers way to try to make some money off of me to sell me a whole new front bumper. Does any body know where I could get these grill inserts or does anybody have any they would like to sell?

they will fit a stock bumper cover and they are dis-continued from GM .....ebay has them for around $550.oo to $600.oo just for the SAP inserts.
