Got my GTO, got some questions

Hey guys, finally got my dream car yesterday, a 2006 GTO spiced red and beautiful. When i was looking at it, i noticed under the hood on the left side was a plate that says 1 out of 1224 (or close to that number) and it also said 420 hp LS2. i know they were rated at 400 and most got around 420 out of it, but is this something different, or did the previous owner prob put the plate on it. ill try to get some pics of it up in a few hours. thanks for the help guys.

If so you can have them engraved to say what ever you want such as what is on your's. I have one that says 2005 gto 400hp or something to that nature, can't remember exactly without looking at it.

Previous owner installed that plate. Is your car modified at all?

dont know about mods, for me having owned a 02 ws6 and a 2000 ws6 along with a modded lt1, this car pulls so much harder than any of these did (comparing when my ws6 both had intake and exhaust). im gonna try to find out who owned it prior to me and see what he did, but really slim chances on finding him im guessing.

OK. I only ask as I have never seen a "420 HP" badge before. Just the ones that say "400 HP LS2".

well no luck in trying to find out who owned it before, prob gonna see if pontiac can tell me anything about it.

There was neve ra 420hp option. Just the run of the mill 400hp LS2. Same as the Corvette.
