    Fuel door module

The button on my dash to open the fuel door no longer works. I see a couple of modules on ebay but - how long will they last? How many of you have replaced yours? What is involved?

I bought one on ebay for $14. He claims it works fine and is from an '04. Time will tell.

You will find some pretty good deals on eBay. Speaking from experience.

I recently found out that GM used two different actuators, depending on the VIN. Mine came with the first version. It is dark green and the connector plugs into the front (towards the front of the car). The one I got on ebay is the 2nd version and the connector is different and plugs into the top of it. Even if the connector plug was the same for both versions, the wires are not long enough to reach the top of the 2nd version actuator. If I can't find the right connector plug to splice into the existing wires, I will use female disconnects to crimp onto the wires AFTER I add more wires so I can use this 2nd version actuator. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Dave - I see that you are not too far from either Beaver Springs or Carlisle. You should come join us at the track sometime! We also have a site tent on the grounds for GM Carlisle in late June.

Thanks Jeff. Let me know when you go to Beaver Springs. Actually never been there. I have been to the GM show twice.
I got the module wired in last night. Works great. Now to replace the drivers' door lock module. Won't unlock half the time.
Anybody else out there have the same problem?

We run a lot of Test & Tunes. For $40 you can make passes all day and anyone you bring with you gets in free. Make sure you stop by our tent at Carlisle -- it'll have an LS1.com banner and be located around Gate 3.

Do you hear the lock click when you lock/unlock the doors with the fob?
