    End of Pontiac

Say it isn't so. GM is saying that if they can not meet the deadline to reduce debt they will cut the Pontiac brand.:cry2

Gotta look at the bright side I guess but I'd rather have Pontiac around. I wish they would transfer the G8 to Chevy but that won't happen with the way this administration is pushing the eco cars. They reemed Chrysler for unveiling the new Grand Cherokee which is their best selling most (maybe only) profiable vehicle. I am scared for all performance minded cars.

These threads are as useless at the "which headers" threads are. So what if that kill Pontiac/GM/Ford? You have a car dont you? You think cause someone makes a comment on a forum its going to help? Just drive what you have and stop crying over shit you cant change. The GTO died, and came back didnt it?

Eh, its a bit different. For comparisons sake you are talking about the GTO comming back...

In the 90s the 3rd armored division was disbanded.. it would stand a HELLEVA less chance to come back if the whole US army was gone..

    Kinda get that???

Your just happy cause your Camaro is coming back!

Yea we have some tight cars groomed from American muscle heritages but the scary thing is what we have are dying. C'mon what will our children drive!? A freakin tin box spitting out bubbles!! Thats not freedom of choice! We love fast cars but our government is mandating that we can no longer drive them. Fuck them! This isn't socialism!

I am not scared about not having a fast car to drive they will around. But the question is do I want to drive a tiny little 2 seat turbo 4 banger made of lightweight plastic that I have to pay gas guzzler tax on? Fuck that I want a good sized car that I fit in comfortably, has a usable back seat, and steel around me...and still go fast; that's where american muscle comes in.

Man relax, you can skim right past these threads, it's not like it had a title that made you think it was anything different from what it was. It's not useless it's a venting tread, I know nothing here is making any difference and so does everyone else.

the GTO never came back,....the name did. it wasnt designed as a GTO in the first place, it was austrailian. and on top of that it was boring and was nothing more then a sedan/coupe. boring lines/ poor excuse for a GTO.

we all have our opinions,to most of us yours is out there in left feild, personally most new cars today are far better then the older cars suspension and braking are far better then the OLD cars,I liked the body style of some of the old gtos but for the most part,i liked novas, camaros and a few firebirds, and my 70 monte has one of the best body lines out there as well as the chevells,Im glad the 04-06 look like they do,i happen to like the suttle looks and the performance and interior were a president for things to come as they seem to copy our interiors ,look at the new camaro the new chargers etc. they all resemble our cars interiors.beside ls motors kick ass. The 04-06 was not marketed in a very good way, again dont bother me i have 1 of 64 made,I enjoy having a car not everyone has ,and after you see my taillights youd respect the car..lol
mods: custom built twins, built 408 w/l92 stock GM heads,GM matching intake, drag bags, frame ties, aluminum drive shaft, performabuilt 4l80e,Yank converter, ohios fastest and quickest 04-06 GTO 9.52 at 144mph. 1.50 60ft on stock rear end and shafts/suspension,on drag radials.

As I stated before, Ive owned 7 F-Bodies. Ranging from Strippers to fully loaded SS's and ALL of them combined, doesnt come close to how much I love driving/owning my GTO. Its hundreds times more refined, comfortable, and a blast to drive. Wait till GM goes under (cause theyre all a bunch of greedy and incompetent morons) and all the newer cars you will be able to buy are made overseas.

i never said anything about performance. I said it is a boring car, and it is, its body lines ARE boring, and its not a GTO. It was not made originally as a GTO, the GTO name was just slapped on it and sold in the US. If you dont believe that your crazy. Ok look its not a bad performing car. Of course its going to perform better then the original..duh....but thats not what i am saying. I mean look at that huge backseat windows and the boring ass its got on it. The rear quarter panels are horrible. And I beg to differ about new cars looking like older cars....look at the new mustang and challenger.......I am not trying to be a doucher guys, I just am and always will be completely put off by GM's poor excuse for a GTO. They could have done so much better. I mean look how horrible the sales were for it.

Well, that will be a mystery. http://www.supercars.net/cars/2488.html
There was an Aussie model. So, the question is...was the GTO supposed to be a resurrection of a legend, or was this car to introduce a new breed of performance?
