    Door thunk.

Just throwing this out there for a pm measure or a fix if your door thunks when opening.
The black bar that stops the door from opening too much has two 10mm nuts (door side)that come loose and causes the door to thunk while opening. On the body side there are two 8mm bolts that you will take out so the door opens more for easier access to the door side nuts. Tighten them and then put the bolts back in. Before you torque them tight, swing the door back and forth a little and the mount will find it's center point.

I hope that my problem turns out to be your gain.
    That is all,carry on.

OK. Picture this - Go out to your car and open the door and SNAP. You wont get a better picture than that. Sorry, I'm not the shutter bug that takes pix of everything I do.

Thanx Sarge. Every year I get under her (no sex jokes) and check all of her fasteners. Twice a year for the diff and halfshaft hex bolts. Heard some horror stories about them. Also, while checking my belts and hoses I tighten up the clamp bolts and every year, they tighten up a little. I never really gave thought to the door hinges and the black stop bar and go figure - loose as hell.

Because you have a garage and you're in Texas. I'm a driveway guy in Delaware. I'm almost jealous.
I tried to get a city code variance to build a garage in my humongous backyard but NO. Damn city of Newcastle historical society. They won't even let me put up a carport in my driveway. Too close to the neighbors driveway.

LMAO. Simply brilliant idea there Sarge. I don't know why I didn't think of that because they probably would.

With an 04, I'm betting the farm that at least one if not all of the door side nutz are loose. I say 04 because of the age and more usage.
