Dome light and alarm problem - HELP!!
The other weekend my dome light (and the lights in the doors) would not turn off and the remote would not lock the doors. I could manually lock the doors with a key, but dome light stayed on with the engine off. I could use the remote to unlock the doors, but not lock them. Starting the car would turn off the dome light, but once I turned the engine off, the dome light came back on and stayed on. Normally it dims after a few seconds. I noticed that the light went off before I started the car after I buckled the seat belt, so after getting fed up, I locked the seatbelt to on the driver seat to save the battery for the night. Next morning, the problem went away.
This happened last year and the battery ran down overnight in the garage and I needed a flat bed to the dealer. They could not find the problem or get it to repeat. Once the battery was recharged, no problem with the light or alarm. At first they said it was the battery, but did not replace it.
Anybody have a similar issue or a suggestion? Warranty to run out in a few hundred miles. Took it to the dealer again and their only suggestion was maybe I should consider the extended warranty or bring it in when it is acting up. They could not find a problem.

body control module, witout it ...well nothing really works. EXACTLY what it does i'm not sure but if you disconnect it at the module itself, it wont start, it wont seem to do anything right...good luck? some people have tried getting some from ebay but that doesent work, if thats it...its kinda expensive.

Expensive is just my luck. Just went over 36,000 miles after it was at the dealer. I do not think they replaced anything. Just could not get the problem to repeat.

swap out your Delco battery if you still got it and get an Optima or something good. That's my opinion.
