    04 GTO

    diablosport transmission rpm

    Ok so I have an 04 gto A4 of course I want the most out of it what u guys recommend for the rpm on each shift should I go for high rpm on all of them without harming anything?

    Yes, it's not going to hurt anything to up the shift points. It's pretty "safe" at foctory settings. That's just for warrenty purposes. Diablo is a realitively tame tuner, so u should b fine.

    Welcome Hoosier. Yeah I've always run faster at the drag strip when I got my AT cars to shift at the red line. Make sure it doesn't hit it during the shift, or barely bumps it once. You might find you have to play around with different shifts, like the 1-2 you may have to set to 3-400 below redline to allow the time it takes to shift and the 2-3 could be 2-300 below.

    I disagree....on stock valvetrain I wouldn't go much over stock rpm's. Stock valvetrain just isn't designed to handle the rpm's.

    ^^^I never said to exceed factory redline. All my AT cars have always gone faster at the drag strip if I shift above the peak HP point in the RPM range.

    I have my wife's 04 GTO set at 6200 rpm shifts and she has hit it many times with no failures. It runs great.
    My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
    My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

    I agree. Anything over 6,100 RPM risks valves floating.
