Common failures on a GTO 05 06
I am actually looking to buy one. Do they have a glass rearend like the f-bodys? How does everything hold up to abuse? Mainly worried about rearend and tranny.

Black- 2004 GTO A4
I would agree on the front end shake being the biggest issue. Plan on having some extra cash to fix the issue when it happens ($500 minimum). The trans is good and the rear axle is good with the exception of the weak rubber mount ($cheap fix) and the weak drive shaft and axle shafts. OK with a stock motor, but be careful if you mod it too much (especially the M6).
In my opintion, the GTO's are a much better car than the F-bodies for various reasons.
