Can't start car because of security system

Key fob will not unlock doors meaning it won't disengage the security system. I can't start blue or even open my effing trunk, and best of all she's stuck in some lonely parking lot just waiting for the vagrants of the town to come and violate her. I just got out of the field today and I beyond pissed that this is what was waiting for me whenever I finally got to drive her. What in the hell is the cause and solution for this bs? Is this what awaits us when our key fob batteries go out?

Sorry for the rant and bad language... This is just bs

Iam not sure about your model, but on my gf's car she only has 1 key hole on the outside the car. Its the drivers side door. (2005 pontiac grand prix) The key should open it, the alarm may go off but the key should turn that off when you put it in the ignition to start the car.

When mine acted up, I could start my car, but the fobs wouldn't lock/unlock my doors or trunk. Are you running any LED bulbs in your car? They could be causing an error in the BCM. I believe our cars have a CANbus setup where all the computers rely on a certain voltage in order to communicate with each other. If there is interference caused by LED bulbs, the anti theft will go whacky. I pulled my LEDs from my kick panels and license lights and my car has been fine for almost a year now. I feel kind of stupid breaking my fob apart and buying a new one. Did the alarm sound when you unlocked your door with the key at least?

Something else to check is the anti theft fuse under the steering column and check the fuse in the BCM itself. Also check the wiring above the BCM as they tend to chafe on the bracket for the dashboard.

I believe its because I'm running an aftermarket stereo in the car. It's been doing this for as long as I've owned it. It gives me comfort knowing that it can't be stolen, but it was horrible when I was left stranded lol.

Yeah. Our cars can be tempermental when it comes to certain electronic additions. Do you know if there are any loose wires behind the radio? Remember, the factory radio comes with its own anti-theft device, so the BCM could be disabling the entire car being there is a possible current discrepency.

I know that all the previous owner did was disconnect the wires from the battery and took out the subs. The wiring is still ran through the car. Which is pretty nice for me if I ever want to add extra to my sound system.

Is the car running now? Is everything back to normal?
