Torrid Red- 2004 Pontiac GTO
Can you swap out an 04's exhaust for an 06's?
I have a question guys! My brother recently bought a 2006 PBM GTO and it already had a Magnaflow Performance Cat-back Exhaust system on it and they guy who previously owned the vehicle brought in the stock exhaust from the 06. My question is can I swap out my 04's stock cat back and replace it with the 06's stock cat-back? I already know I'll have to make a cut out in th rear bumper fascia to accomodate the exhaust, but I want to know if this is possible before I do anything. Thanks.

Phantom Black Metalic- 2005 GTO
yes the GTO is all the same you will need mid pipes for the 05-06 if you use the 05-06 exhaust off the other car,the only diffrence in the 04 and the 05-06 is the mids/off road pipes and the way they are routed out the ass end of the car, well besides the 04 came with 2 1/4 tubing for exhaust and the 05-06 had 2 1/2 and some ugly bends and kinks.
mods: custom built twins, built 408 w/l92 stock GM heads,GM matching intake, drag bags, frame ties, aluminum drive shaft, performabuilt 4l80e,Yank converter, ohios fastest and quickest 04-06 GTO 9.52 at 144mph. 1.50 60ft on stock rear end and shafts/suspension,on drag radials.

Barbados Blue- 2004 GTO
Why would you do that? what are you looking to gain? Exhaust on both sides? Just seems like a lot of work to swap out 1 crappy exhaust for another. Now, don't get me wrong. I know all the money and work that went into designing our systems. But those crimps around the rear subframe negate all the work. Get a flowmaster American Thunder, you will be much happier.

Nice but bring up the right side exhaust a bit to make it sit even.
