Not one that will give you "worth while" gains.

    Cam swap costs:

    Cam $375 avg, Custom $425.
Chrome Moly PR - $100-$140 (Depending on brand & length)
Valve Springs $280-$500 (Depending on brand, height, and type)
Tune: $500 est. This varies from place to place & how extensive the tune. Frost, depending on the cam may be able to do a mail order.
Timing Chain $60-$350 depends on cam. Most a LS2 ($60) is good, C5R TC ($100) is better, then double rollers for big cams/power

Options That go with cam swaps

    Oil Pump $105-$160
    Lifters - LS7's $150, better BTR $290

You can piece meal it but it will cost you in tuning cost later.

If you are going to invest over 2k in a cam then go big and get the most bang for the buck you can.

I think the LS3/7 cam would work for yours. I might be wrong, but I believe you can use the LS7 springs as well.

Okay that gives me an idea. If i do start piecing it together are there any of the parts that can go on while i wait for the others? And with these is a torque convertor required or is it just suggested?

Since you have an auto, I'd do a converter swap before anything else. That had to be one of the best add on's I did, and most that own an auto/LS1 will tell you the same. I'd recommend it even without a cam swap, but definately before a cam swap is done.
You might even find that after a nice converter is installed, you could do without a camshaft for a while, it's a nice 1/2 second gain for not much work, and certainly cheaper than a cam swap turns out to be.

I wouldn't use either of those cams without a stall converter.

The GT11 with it's huge intake/exhaust duration spread and very wide 118 LSA gives me the impression it's ground for either the LS3 style heads that have a not so good I/E ratio, or it's ground for a cathedral head with the intention of running stock exhaust manifolds.

The GT12 has a little less of both, not my first choice either.

Depending on what specs you run, upgrade the valvetrain as well. I don't think I've read any negatives on the Voodoo.

A 272 Intake and 278 Exhaust is extreme. Not saying you can't it's just that that much lift you would lose any street manners.

I've always been a fan of Lunati stuff.

This one looks like 222/228 @ .050 and has 113 lsa with 4 degrees of advance ground in.

A nice middle of the road cam. You are still going to need a converter with it or you won't be very happy.

Those are the advertised numbers. The .050 numbers are what should be looked at closely as they are more accurate to compare one cam from the next. In this case it's 222/228, so it's a rather mild camshaft.

okay that makes sense. i do know that the lift at .50 is 222/228. is that any better for streetability? and its fine just busting your balls.
