I'm using Tick's Polluter stage 3 for my 6liter build. Jodi just used my blueprint and put down just under 450rwhp with a LS6 intake, LT's, stock pump & injectors. Martin (Tick) said if she uses 42lb injectors and upgrade the pump she'll be able to squeeze a few more out. I've already got those so I can wait till mine is back together.
If you have a FAST 102 & 102 TB you'll be in the 500's easy.
For heads if you're looking at putting some $$ in the heads look for Advance Inductions. They do some serious magic with heads.

Thanks on the info! Do you think getting my existing 243's machined and opened up a bit would compete with the aftermarket heads?

Oh hell yeah if you send them to AI. It's going to cost some but they have some serious quality behind there process. IIRC you send them your heads and they send back after their P&P process. In the long run it will be a little less then aftermarket heads. Plus they can match cam specs to give you the most bank for the buck.
Aftermarket 243's are just heads that have gone through the same process as AI, it's just that instead of getting new heads, AI does it to yours. So you save some $$$.
Also with H&C upgrades don't forget to get good set of valve springs. Martin set me up with BTR dual platinum springs for my cam.

I was looking at the stage 3 polluter cam for the ls2. Does that net similar results to the ls1 version? Will this still be street friendly?

Better results for 6 litter blocks according to Martin and "street friendly" is a relative term.
Martin told me with my setup: LQ4 block, Polluter stage 3 cam (239/244/122+2LSA), 243 heads going thru a T56 (Stage 2 built) with 4.10 gears on a 8.8 Ford rear will do ok (very well) on the street. It's going to have serious tq on the low side with those gears. He also has one for A4 car's too. That one I believe is a 111+2 or 3 LSA. He told me the auto's can absorb the chatter that 111 LSA's CAMs are known for.

Now this is another school of thought. Invest in this and put this on my 80k ls2 with results sooner than later, or save up for awhile longer and for the 454 lsx from Mast Motorsports. Are they a reputable company and would that be a viable option?

Three words: Custom Grind Cam
Figure out what mods you want (heads, intake, headers, stall, etc.) and then get a custom cam made for your setup.

Whats your reasoning for that? Are the ready made grinds not as good? Just curious not being a phallus.

with custom grinds you get exactly what you want. Companies like AI can match your cam and heads to get every bit of power & torque that package cams/heads might leave off the table. Custom grinds usually run about $425-450
