Cam
Hi guys need a little help
Iam from Scotland and we drive small engined cars which are easy to tune as most of them have turbo`s. But i have a Holden Monaro (pontiac GTO) The car has a LS1 Gen III engine and iam doing some work on it. Booked in for new headers and cats.
Iam looking to fit a cam to the car but iam lost there is so many to choose from and when i look into it all the is numbers and figures that i just dont understand.
So iam looking for is a cam for ma car which i can fit but still have a usable car as its ma daily driver, But at weekends i do a little 1/4 stuff in the summer.
I have been on Summit Racing site and good stuff but again i dont know what iam looking at. So any help from the home of the V8 would be helpful and a guide to cams would be helpful.
Thanks
Si

You want a good medium cam. Im thinking about the TSP torquer v2.... Sounds like a good cam to me.

I would suggest looking at emissions laws there. Before you buy, just to be safe.

Tr224 or 228 sounds like they would be great for you. Is your car an A4 or M6? Are you looking for a good lumpy idle or not lumpy?

A4 is an automatic. M6 is a manual.
You need to really figure out your goals.Rob

Kinda sounds like you need to read up a little more before making a decision based on other peoples cam opinions. Its a big decision, choose wisely. There is a fairly detailed Camshaft Guide in the Internal Engine Section of this forum, or you can find it in my signature also. I would suggest reading through that, and then start making decisions.

Any of the 5.7 LS1 applications will work just dandy.
