The manual brakes take more pedal effort but feel and work great.
The biggest change was going to the manual rack lol 4 turns lock to lock is A LOT different than 2 3/4 turn lock to lock. The steering definately is stiffer, but gives so much more road feel and better response than the power unit edver did.
The torque from the new motor is down right amazing
The first car I ever drove, AMC Hornet, didn't have power steering or brakes. I didn't know any better back then but would probably be in shock going back the first time I drove it now without. lol

It did take some getting use to but it really makes you feel more in control. I like it.

Holy hell, that is a big change. Im too lazy for that!

Are you tuning SD or MAF?. When that book gets here and I read it Ill let you know how it is. Talking to you though, seems you have the solid basics of HPT down

Same here, I love SD, but I still have to tune the MAF in to run through emmissions once every two years

After you get a chance to look it over, let me know what you think. Might not be a bad one to add to the automotive library. Banish's books were certainly good and I learned a lot from them. I just don't know yet if I am going to bite the bullet and order up HP Tuners to try this stuff myself.

Will do Jeff. It makes it so much easier owning HPT and trying to learn this stuff. Like Banish's DVD, its great to have the program by you. One thing I HATED about Banish's DVD was that he used a Lambda wideband. That thing is over 3000 dollars, and as far as I can tell, is not the same as using a cheaper (LC1,LM1, AFX) wideband and AFR.

I'm excited for this book, its supposed to be very informative. If your just trying to tune your one vechile, used HPTuners go for sale pretty often. I would recommend HPT of EFI Live strictly because of the Internet backing and much more helpful books, DVDs available.

2 weeks ago I applied for an Ohio Collectors plate. Get that plate and your exempt from emmissions testing here. Well I have two more weeks to see if a plate shows up. Haven't heard one way or another if they accepted my application ... but they did cash the check I sent.

I've heard that there is a way to not trip the MAF fail error, and even posted on hptuners asking about it, but they didn't answer my post and then deleted it....if you have some info I'll listen

I'm reading it right now and screwing around with my HPT. Also got Greg Banish's DVD. Seems to be a good book. I would love to learn first hand from someone who knew what they were doing. Interesting nonetheless.

Trust me I've spent several nights in the garage beating my head against the wal lol

No more intake tube, with this setup I have a cone filter hanging right off the tb, so I drilled a hole in the center nose of the filter to mount the air intake temp sensor in, extended the wires about 3 foot and went out for a drives to get some data logs in.
After about 4 logs I have VE pretty close and no knock so now its time to do alittle bump here and there in the spark advance to get alittle more out of her and bump the rev limit up and tune in the top end of the VE....I'm thinking a new limit of 7,500 or more to try and see where power starts to drop off.

You could always move out to BFE, like I did. Then you don't even have emissions testing. Guess it's to hard to get good readings on horse and buggies...
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.
