This is a discussion on bigger better faster build within the GTO forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; I read through it all the other day. Figured I'd post to keep up with any new posts better....

Got them off EBay, $98 with or without coil mounts....just have to watch, if you get them too tight they want to spread along the top and bottom edges, I had to lay them on the bench on their side and push the gasket edge in just alittle to get it to seal right....very good peices

Ok so I have alittle update on the goat...ended up going with a new set of pistons, milled the heads alittle more and got a valve job....now she is sitting at 12.56:1 compression with full timing on pump gas and 0 knock.

I babies it for a week back and forth to work, then last week i had a crotch rocket mess with me...i burped the throttle, he thee his face shield down and down shifted....we took off from about 40 mph and I let off the throttle when i had PULLED 10 OR MORE CAR LENGTHS ON HIM!!!! the beast is alive and roaring better than I could have ever imagined and has insane power up to my7,000 rpm fuel cut...will be raising the fuel cut up to about 8,000-8,500 rpms here when I change the oil again.

Right now I have it back in the garage building a big brake setup for it....checkout that new thread for more info on the brake upgrade

Back from the dead again and adding more parts!

Pulled the 4l60 out and dropped in a good old 3speed Saginaw manual. Gutted all the rear suspension out to make room for my new rear....9" Ford strait axle, 4.56 gears, locker and 4 link suspension with full back half tub and frame, 15 x 18" widened Crager ss's and 31-18.5 15" Hoosier tires.

    Should be fun when finished

Ok I've got a few more things done since my last post!

I cut the entire floor out from just below the firewall back to the rear bumper.

Backhalfed the car, fabbed up a new square tube rear subframe, eroded it in and mounted the new 4link and Ford

Tubbed, shortened the rockers and "adjusted" the rear quarters

9" solid axle with 4.56 rear gears.

    Mounted 18" wide 15" wheels with Hoosier 31-18.5 15's

Fabbed up and welded in square tube subframe connectors.

Had a local speed shop bend up a main hoop for me, then bent up and welded on a full NHRA legal 10 cage.

Now I'm working on putting a custom floor and tranny tunnel in.

Been busy, but hope to post up lots of pics here real soon!

If you look up "hardcore" in Webster's... I am certain you will find mark21742 somewhere in the definition.
