    Thumbs up Lawn mower

I recently tried some Amsoil TC-W3 HP Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle oil in my lawn mower. It could be psychological but the pull string start seemed to be easier and the mower didn’t get bogged down as much in taller grass.

Subscribed. I just purchased the recommended oil and will begin adding it to our vehicles as prescribed. Certainly makes sense from everything I have read on this thread. Thanks Sarge for the info!

measuring the oil and my results

I recently sold my DD (96 escort, 1.9liter) with 98,600 miles on it. I was doing the Sarge TCW3 Treatment for 3-4 tanks before I decided it was time to get rid of the car. Before the treatment the car was misfiring regularly, and I did not feel like it was reliable to get me to work. Right before I sold it the car was much smoother, and I trusted it to get me around town anywhere I needed to go. I think this also helped the car seem like it was in much better shape to the buyer who test drove it.

I found an easy way to measure accurately the amount to add at fill up is with a 8 oz. Sta-Bil bottle that has been emptied. That way you can just squeeze out what you need, and the measurements are right on the side. Re-fill the Sta-bil bottle as needed and leave the big jug of TCW3 at home. I keep my Sta-Bil bottle wrapped in a rag, and sealed in a ziploc bag in my trunk.

    Thanks again Sarge!

^^ Good idea on the Sta-bil bottle. I was trying to figure out what I have around the house to make this an easier task.

Some modify a baby bottle. I just got a plastic bottle marked on the side with OZ's from the dollar store and keep it in the rear cup holder in the truck. Only fill as needed.
However...most (far and away) of the original testers just put the 2stroke oil in when they got home.

I just can't see myself pulling up to the pump with baby bottle in hand... would have to do that in the privacy of my garage. Also a good idea though. I dosed the whole fleet last night.

I like to use the bottle at the station. Makes everyone wonder what the hell you're doing.

    D'OH!!

just got myself some of the oil while out at kmart tonight on the way home... and GOOFED on the ratio!

apparently I didn't remember it correctly hahaha... I thought it was 4oz for every 5 gallons!!

so right now I have a little less than half tank of gas (7.5 gallons), and about 6oz of the oil in it!! I'm goin down right now to fill up the tank to dilute it...

will this strong mixture screw anything up on me??!!!

    thanks guys!!

LOL....no we had many put in 1oz to 1 gallon. Doesn't hurt anything. Just fill it up and run it out. 1oz to 5 gallons.

OR 1/4 OF THE TANK IS OK ? or before or after fill up the gas ? reason I alway avoid fill near empty cause im alway affair fuel pump running hot, thanks

Welcome to the forum man. We all use a round up method.
    If I put in 13 gallons I put in 3oz's of TC-W3. 12 gallons I put in 2oz's of TC-W3.

I found one of the 16oz bottles that has the sort of sight glass on the side so i can see how much i've added. my brother was at the gas station with me last weekend when i put some in. He thought I was crazy too. Asked if i was converting my car into a motorboat.

    cool! whew!

I just got back from the station, so now there's 17 gallons in there... and I just rechecked the quart of oil, and going by the oz. measurements on the side, I had actually only put in 5 oz...

so, I'm running a 5oz to 17 gallon mixture.... which is only about 1oz more than it "should" be...

whew!! that makes me feel better hahaha...

wasn't able to find synthetic around me, but this is what I got: http://www.pennzoil-store.com/produc..._outboard.html - "Pennzoil Multi-Purpose 2-Cycle Premium Engine Oil"... it's NMMA and TC-W3, so should be fine, right?

and, with 71,xxx miles on my Monte, and just starting this oil trick now, will it still clean up any crap that has accumulated inside there all this time??

    Thanks Sarge!!

Sarge mentioned a few pages back it didn't matter since the fuel gets sloshed around in the tank.
If you know the size fuel cell you have then fill it up and add the proper amount of TC-W3.
