My first post here, new member. I may get banned cause I'm a Mopar feller. LOL. I tried the 2 cycle pennzoil in my 87 Dodge D100 318 and 96 Ram 1500 318. So far havent ran the 96 out of town but the 87 idle speed has increased 100 RPM in gear and gained 1 1/2 MPG in 400 miles. Beats the hell out of Lucas fuel system conditioner.

Haha I told my dad about this a while ago and how a 152k mile car could get 24mpg average(checked 45 minutes ago) I didnt tell him anything about the brand or the ratio or type so he dumped 1/2 a bottle of regular chainsaw in a full tank
I got a text message from him saying his truck was a "skeeter fogger" lolololol
ASE Mastertech too... i was disapointed... dumbass..

So I showed him this thread. run all of that crap outta his tank, put 93 shell in it, seafoamed it, and then applied the tcw3... no fogger but still a smoker till all that crap burns off... 215k all original ...GM FTMFW!

Will this oil additive help detonation? I heard what I thought was detonation once and haven't heard any pinging since. Will adding this have any affect on octan?

No effect on octane. Big effect on ring packs/valves/cleaning injectors/fuel pump.

Octane booster really doesn't do anything...but if you wish the 2stroke add will not diminish it at all so feel free to intermix them.

welp sarge, I know its kinda off topic, and some people will yell at me for it, but I'm building a fuel saver for my 70 year olf mother.
her first new car was a 68 mustang and said she always wanted one again....but she likes the way the modern cars handle better and get better gas mileage..... so this past weekend I picked up a 66 mustang coupe (some rust but all in all in good shape) 289 automatic( two pumps and it fired up and drove onto the trailer, then back off and into the garage).
completely gutted it saturday and sunday and here it comes....
picked up a 1998 honda civic to use for a donor car. when done she will have a front wheel drive honda powered 66 mustang with all the new tech, 30+ mpg and more power than stock.... I love a good project

here's my question, after all this I hear about additives and modifications to the cars to attain more MPG ... in the end, does the cost of doing all this to the car offset what we get back from MPG's??? I've seen people doing crazy stuff and changing their O2 sensors/plugs/wires/etc. every 6mo./1yr. to get optimum efficiency/etc. but do we get back every $ and more to even offset all the hard work?

It depends. Most of us here (Im guessing) dont focus on the MPG when modifying; its all about power and getting said power to the wheels. All in all, if someone was trying to go all out in modding for MPG, the question would only be relevant pertaining to their own personal use of the vehicle. I modified my 05 Saturn Ion for balanced MPG and performance. By the end, I really dont feel like doing the math to figure out what I've spent versus what I'd saved in gas. Doing those calculations take too much time, and time=money. Not sure if I answered your question, but figured I'd toss in my 2 cents.

This is why also, for maintenance. The mpg is a bonus compared to a damaged fuel system and that cost.

No....as you know our fuel "filter" is just a sock on the pump in the tank.

I see people buying all kinds of snake oil for $6 bucks a bottle for their 87 Honda Incredible.
