Did anyone notice the fuel pump noise? Mine went from being fairly loud with the back seat down to I can't even hear it with no interior in the car. I'm still running FP60, but basically same thing for more $. I've got about 15k on since I started and no issues for me. I'm going to switch over once my gallon is used up.

Yeah sorry I mixed up boards. I was directed here from ls1gto.com and someone there said they litereally had an improvment from the point he first started the car at the gas station. That has to be bs, I guess you could cut some slack and call it a placebo effect but definatly no help.

What is the most miles anyone has used this mix on a single vehicle?

No problem man, i was just trying to clear up what i said to make it more understandable. I followed a link from this thread over to the gto forums, and they didnt like the idea of putting oil in their gas, oh well, their loss. What part of miami are you from?

Yes, I tried to do some folks a favor by sharing this information with them on another brand-x automotive forum and they just laughed it off. Said we were re-inventing the wheel. Said it is an old news trick that doesn’t really accomplish anything. Not sure if any of the neigh-sayers have actually tried it for themselves but the results speak for themselves here and elsewhere.

I recently dug up some supporting information to Sarge’s testing. For those of you still trying to decide if you what to give this a shot, read the genesis of how this topic came about from another popular information forum, Bob is the oil guy.

It would also appear that this is a popular trick with Diesel engines as well.

LOL....yeah other forums like ls1gto.com have a anal view of just about anything "they" didn't come up with...shit....I got involved with this through school bus drivers....yes it is true.....one of our local school bus drivers and I talk oil/mechanics etc. and he had been putting the 2stroke oil in his school bus on a bet with another driver.....he won the bet...so I started testing and we got folks from all over the country to join in and test with us....
I used to frequent BITOG but not much so anymore...turned into a "What the Best Oil" forum where it used to be a good discussion of oils/tribology etc. Hell....Terry Dyson doesn't even go there anymore...that should tell you something.....but the last straw was the old widow woman selling out to Castrol....screw that.....

Ok..here we go...real world results. I wish I could say that I had paid attention to the idol, but I haven't. The fuel pump still makes the same amount of noise, but, now, the good stuff. 1st tank - did nothing but around town driving. Now I can get 20 mpg around town, if I'm real easy on it, and change gears at 1500 rpms. Well, I didn't. I drove it like I normally would. That would normally get me 17 mpg. I got 19.7...normally, I would get 17 flat like that. 2nd tank- I filled it up, but forgot the oil. Only drove around town a little...got 17 mpg. Now that was only 2.7 gallons. I drove from Ohio down to mom and dad's tonight, so I went ahead and topped off (that's the 2.7 gallons). I drove home added the oil back in to make up for the amount I had left out. Drove to mom and dad's, got 29.2 MPG. Normally this trip nets me 26 mpg, with a best ever of 27 mpg. That's w/ my cruise set at 80 for most of the trip. And being in stop and go traffic in 6 pm traffic in cincinnati for 12 miles/30 minutes. So I was coming OUT of the Ohio Valley going UP into Kentucky. That almost touches the best I ever got of 29.3 in the WV mountains. Now I realize that 29.3 in the mountains sounds like a lot, but realize that that trip, I spent half of the time going 90-95 just coasting w/ the car in neutral. This IS working for me. No doubt about it, and I've only been through 2 tanks.

Sarge, thanks for passing this along. I will be doing this from now on.

Just noticed the massive sticker at my shell station today, CONTAINS UP TO 10% ETHANOL FOR ALL PUMP GASES. According to manufacturers, it has no effect on your vehicle. But really, I don't see how it couldn't. Sarge, what do you think about this?

Ethanol is my main reason for doing this. That crap dries everything out.

Ethanol attracts moisture...is corrosive and dries the shit out of everything. The 2stroke oil fuel add counters these effects.

Good input...I can tell your being defensive....and I understand why....folks just will not embrace something as cheap and easy as this really does allow positives. They just cannot get their ears around it.....Oh well.....
As for your fuel pump....with such a thin mix it may take awhile but I bet it will quieten your fuel pump down over time.

Didn't mean to come off as defensive at all, Sarge. I really hadn't paid much attention to the idle. The car had less than 35,000 miles when i bought it, and now has 44,000, so my idle isn't bad anyway. The fuel pump I know hasn't changed, because I listen for it to stop spinning before I actually start the car. I'm freakin' stoked that this worked so well. Like I said, I've only been through 2 tanks, and I'm already seeing large improvements in the gas mileage. I'm really appreciative of the information on this that you brought forward.

    thanks

I just discovered this thread, only got to read parts of it, I'm heading out the door in a few seconds(Gonna pick up some TC W3 too while I'm out) and I have a couple of questions for Sarge regarding this oil, gasoline octane, and detonation.

As you know, living right up the road from me, Texas heat plus horsepower = no bueno when it comes to detonation. Occasionally I get 93 octane gas but usually for budgetary reasons I get the absolute cheapest gas available. A few days ago I heard the first sound of what I believe to be detonation at wide open throttle. I say that I believe it was possibly detonation because I had the t-tops off and Pantera cranked on the radio. I heard a ping and let off, turned down the stereo and punched it again. I heard a light ping for just a second and then nothing. It wasn't continuous and it hasn't done it since but I am 99% sure that's what it was.

Will this oil additive help detonation? I didn't get to read the whole thread so if this has been covered, sorry. I read some comments about the quality(or lack there of) in gasoline and gasoline containers, so I was wondering if you recommend using 93 octane along with this oil? Or will 87 plus this oil work? Does this oil act as octane boost as well? Or should additional octane boost be used along with this oil?

Thanks for the information. I am going to try using this in my wife's Expedition and my Grand Marquis too, as they have both recently lost some fuel economy.

Update... took the GTO on a 180-mile, mostly highway round trip (not holding back on the pedal) and averages 26.9mpg (through calculations done by me, not by onboard computer). This kicks ass; gas is gettin cheaper, and I'm getting better fuel economy than my neighbor's brand new V6 Mustang....
