All a "professional" does is blow caustic/acidic chemicals through your injectors....We do not have long term data...but based on two stroke motors I have yet to see a dirty injector in any fuel injected two stroke motor in my lifetime I believe that would be your answer.....yes it is an long term/ongoing solution.

They actually do get clogged in outboards. No doubt about it. Seen many HP outboards blown-up due to injectors. In fact, when I blew mine up (it wasn't an injector in mine, T-stat hung, and the motor got hot), I had these guys..... http://www.brucatosvs.com/fuel_injector.html ....do mine.

I've seen clogged injectors on a outboard so I need to be clear....usually when a 2stroke injector is clogged...it is from A) Shit fuel/moisture B) wrong mix ratio being used....

Yep, you are correct!! as usual I might as well add. It's normally bad gas. However, some of these guys turn their motors 7-10,000 RPMS!! At that range, they have to run 32:1. It's alot of oil, but they need it. Over time, that kind of mixture is bound to cause problems.

No problem Sarge, glad i could add a little something to this awsome thread. Thanks for the advice on the fuels, i wont mind paying a little more for the added security, i try and use only the best products on my babbies. Unfortunately, i havent even gone through a full tank on my "test mule" CETA, all thanks to tropical storm Fay and this awsome weather shes been dumping on us here in central Fla. But i can say that the few times ive had to drive her this past week, that im still noticeing the benefits, ill report back on the mileage when i drive her all this week. And hopefully ill be bringing my maroon TA back up to O-town next weekend and ill be trying this out on her and we'll see how she likes it.

    Sarge,

I think you have answered this but I just wanted to make sure.
Are you saying 1 oz per 5 gallons is best (1:640) or 1:500 which is more like 1 oz per 4 gallons? I am thinking 1 per 4 gallons is what you are suggesting but just wanted to make sure.

Today I am at 1 oz to 4 gallons. That is the sweet spot. I round the mix up. In other words if I put in 13 gallons I use 3 oz's. If I put in 14 gallons I'll put in 4 ozs. It isnt an exact science. But we are close enough to do good....I just dont want folks putting in a quart bottle at a fillup

Thats right about where I am, putting just under 5 oz. per tank in the GTO. Do you think mods make a difference? Like my stock LS2 is taking the amount im using pretty well, it feels smoother at idle and starts up quieter/quicker. If you have aftermarket heads or pistons or other internals, would it make a difference?

On another note, my neighbor down on Cape Cod saw me filling up and adding shotglasses of oil, and wondered what was up. I told him about it, and he started using it in his 89 vette. He's reporting much smoother idling and better gas mileage/response on his weekendly trips for upstate NY. Big guy's all smiles when I see him now, even bought me a round at the local bar. God I love this site!

No....I have massive mods on the GTO and the other motors are stock as your Grandma's panties. We are dealing with internal combustion here.....so Mods really do not play a role. Some folks argue the treatment effects Octane rating....of course have no backup to the statement....I maintain we are not inducing/introducing enough to make a rats ass bit of difference to the Octane rating but are introducing enough to clean and lubricate the top end thus the benefits....

    Sarge,

I other question, what is the most miles you have on any single test mule?

I just put a 4 oz in the GTO, 18.5 gallon tank so just under the 500:1. Will post my thoughts. So far I do not notice any difference nor did I expect to. The GTO is an '04 with 49k miles. I do not understand how some are saying that they notice the difference fromt he first time they crank the engine at the gas station. Even if it instantly mixed perfectly aren't you starting the car on what is already in the fuel lines esspecialy if you just stop long enough to fill the tank? Anyway I don't usually drive much so this tank could last up to 2 weeks so I won't have any observations any time soon.

I guess we have a Ford Truck with over 60,000 ( construction management company) miles is the most. I have over 20,000 +/- a few.....all positives.....some no difference (very few) and no negatives....far and away positives.....
I think some folks saying they notice a difference quickly don't mean the minute they start the car (literally)....but mean within a few days.....I dunno.....it took me about 50 miles and I noticed it idling much smoother etc....that is pretty much "instantly" in some books.....thanks for your input observations man.....we all appreciate it...

thanks Sarge, I think I asked the question wrong though esspecially with the discription of my car. How many miles have you been using the 2 stroke in any one car, I guess also how many miles did it have when you started.

Thanks for clearing that up Sarge, i guess i should have made it more clear as well. Obviously we arent going to notice a difference immediatley, because as you (VTXrider) already stated the mix isnt in the lines or the rail at start up. But i also let my car sit for a good few mins and reach operating temp before i go anywhere, so that might have led to me noticing a little something sooner than most people. Im also sure that i have yet to notice all the benefits of this additive since im only on my second tank, and as Sarge has stated, it takes a few tank fulls for it to take full effect. Theres also other variables that we havent taken into account, for example my test mule has 72K miles on it, and i think you said yours has like 49K. A higher mileage motor has more build up in it, and maybe this additive is more noticeable on "dirtier" engines than say a fresh one. So i will personally be putting this theory to the test when i begin using this additive in my 20K mile motor, and see if i notice it take effect as soon and as noticeable as in my "older" motor. Sorry 'bout the essay gents, its just that this kind of stuff gets my blood flowing!

My friend has 155k on his truck and I have almost 152k and it took a few hours of engine running but the effects were almost immediate. It did smoke at WOT and startup and I dont get that anymore. Oil consumption is absolute zero. My friend with the extreme beater 200+k plus exploder noticed a good 3 mpg increase. but he hasnt done a damn thing to it except change oil.
