    Baby needs new shoes!!!

Ok, so i've gotten a few ideas for starting my GTO out on the "path to power", but my girl wants to buy me some rims and tires for it as a b-day present (i mentioned upgrades for the engine as a substitute, and she's already worried about me killing myself -- i guess she's ok with me looking sharp as i do it tho...oh well)...anyways, i'm looking at a few styles from ASA or maybe a set of OZ wheels from my buddy, but i just thought i'd ask, well, what do i need to ask when i'm getting rims and tires??? like i said, this is the first car i've owned in almost a decade, i guess i'm an idiot with learning new stuff, and the net is stock full of BS to sort through without really helping me...any ideas on sizes or pics of styles that look sharp AND can handle the performance i want???

well do you want to keeps stock tire size or go bigger in the rear such as a 275? and also do you want to stay with 17's or go to 18's or 19's? thats stuff id look at to start just search and find some pictures of gtos with different rims until you find ones you like

18" rims (not 100% sure, but around there) -- 335 rear end, 275 or 285 front end for tires...i guess one of my questions when it comes to rims is the 1piece, 2piece, 3piece stuff...which is the best for street applications with added hp and torque for playin???

275's are the limit in the back without doing some pretty extensive mods. Can't go much bigger then 245's in the front if any bigger. Correcty me if I'm wrong...

Ruff Racing 278's or AZA Z01's FTW. I am running AZA Z01's 235 up front and a 265 in the back, staggered 18's. I love em to death.

Absolutely no rolling or cutting reqd to get these to fit!

+1... My only complaint is the simulated beadlock on all the rims today. Looks like clutter to me, but hey...if you like it, thats what counts. IMO, I'd go for something without the beadlock.

I have a set of (Driftz) wheels and love them. 18x8.5 up front and 18x9.5 in the back. 275's are about all you can just put on without body work but i have seen some people squeeze 285's on the back (different companys size can slightly very). nomatter what you go with really check your backspacing.....or just do what im doing and wide body the goat
