yep tunning (shift points reallocation) and building up the A4 will be a huge difference... I wish you lived closer to get my A4 built stage 4 and stalled a ride. you'd be hooked

I'd have fun with it for awhile! You'd need new tires when I'm done.

The stock autos need much work to be good, bu they can get there. I'm looking forward to trying the new A6 out!

on a road course i would still take a manual. downshifting into turns to decrease speed and then blasting out of them has the same if not a better effect on the lap times as opposed to an auto. the only gripe i have with autos is that IMO i think a 4 speed is outdated. it just doesnt make sense. you end up being in a higher gear than need be. and look at it this way. if im in 3rd and i need to downshift to 2nd and run up through that gear out of a turn, i can do that myself. the auto is delayed.....and while a stall makes a world of difference, you are still at the will of the computer.

it just isnt my style, thats all.

but if its an f body.....its badass in my book. or vette, or gto.....

I'd take a manual on a course, but not a strip.

an auto can be built up, then the computer can be aggressively changed with LS1 Edit... I am crusing 65mi/hr and sitting at 2900rpm, good to go... armed. they screwed with me shifting points for a while they got it noicely done mate!

If I'm anticipating something on the highway I just make sure I'm in 3rd waiting for the punch.

I'm sure it would need to be tunned for shift points too.
