This is coming to the U.S. as a Pontiac G8, dumb name, but looks like a great car.

the whole string of G-line cars 4 dr 3800lbs
I'd buy a G8 2dr, 2seat, 3400 lbs. that would be close to a C6

black- 2004 pontiac GTO
What about the new holden ute i heard we might be getting these imported to us as well. Even a G8 looking station wagon. But iam definatley more interested in the ute light and fast plus it could haul some stuff wich more practical than a GTO. Just not as good looking of course.

Phantom Black- 2004 GTO
it is a sharp looking car but I have heard it will not have those rims and tires but will be a 6.0l with 362hp and with a six speed.

Midnight Blue- 2000 Camaro Z28
don't like it at all. it's ugly, boring, and doesn't stand out. it's like another one of those "let's play it safe" designs where they just want to make the car look like everything else (mostly looks jap) instead of looking cool and original.

If GM adds the option of an LS3 I will buy the car the day they are available.

looks like a great car. considering it will be available with a v6/auto and a v8/auto or manual it will cover the ground of the axed bonneville and grand prix nicely.

disgusting.....that car looks NOTHING like american muscle....looks like a little ricer mixed in with an american type look.....i dont care wut kind of power its guna be making it looks hidious and y would u buy a sports car with 4 doors.....looks horrible u ppl need to look things over if u would "buy it the day it comes out".... go buy a ricer and hook it up to make 360 hp because ur getting the same look as a ricer in that car....oo i forgot to ask....does it come with a fart can too or is that guna be aftermarket?

mmm... Interesting minorical opinion. Everyone I chat to on this board like the look of the VE, seems they are a little slack in posting in this thread. In your defence, pictures (especially those ones) dont do the car justice. We are pretty proud of this latest billion dollar design by Holden. Obviously someone pushing the buttons in the Pontiac office justifies importing thousands of them in LHD configuation across the pond to your shores.
No one said it was American muscle. It is in no way replacing your muscle coupes. To say a sports car can only have 2 doors is a little ignorant IMO. I have ridden in these cars and they are in no way rice. I can imagine the surprise of some 'sports car' drivers when they pull up next to this family hack at the lights and it keeps pace.
I posted a few more pics from one of my other forums that I'm sure the owners wont mind... A few variations of the model included. And by the way, you have to buy 4 aftermarket fart cans...
Some versions of the ute...

the body kit makes it look rice.....it looks like its sitting pretty low 2 the ground in some of the pics.....the car just screams rice 2 me....obv. it doesnt have a rice motor in it but it looks like with some neon lights underneath and some stickers u could mistake it for some rice

The Holden's look a lot better than what they are doing to the G8. Minor changes, but big enough to make a good looking car, an ugly one.
