Anyone else have radio issues (04)

I dont know if its just my car, but the Radio is very quiet for some reason. When you play cds they sound fine, but when I change over to the radio its very quiet and I have to turn it up about 20 notches to match the same sound level as playing a cd.

The sound quality isnt very good either comparing it to stock systems Ive ridden in with other vehicles that are supposed to have cheaper systems in them. Its fine with cds, just the radio doesnt sound good

The reception isnt so great either
    Anyone else experience anything similar?

Mine works fine. What EQ setting do you have it on? Have you turned up your amp/boost knob in the trunk?
Not that I listen to AM, but one time I tried to listen to a news station for traffic and found out that I don't get any AM stations at all. FM is fine.

the EQ is set at the default settings.
I wasnt aware there was even a switch back there so Ill have to check.
The only thing I dont get is why there would be such a difference between the radio and the cd player if they have the same settings

Yeah, thats kinda odd. The knob is behind the left side liner and you can actually slip your hand behind it and feel for it as you move your hand towards the front. I forget which direction but put on a cd and you will hear the bass go up or down. I don't think that'll be you fix though.

There is an amp in the trunk driver side behind the fabric. There is a write up on LS1gto.com about it and you can turn up the amp to get more bass and they have a set by step process among other things

^^^^What they said and also try turning off the "audio distortion limiter". This can be done through the menu options when you turn your ignition key on.
