2008 Pontiac G8 GT - G8 GT Road Test

Pontiac Takes Its Latest Swing At The High End And Has The Punch To Back It UpWith the Firebird's almost six-year absence and the GTO's two-year absence, Pontiac has been hurting for a performance rear-wheel drive V-8 model. There was great speculation as to what would replace the GTO after its departure following the '06 model year, but a clear answer was never given. The all-new G8 isn't specifically targeted as the '04-'06 Goat heir apparent; Pontiac's actually thinking on a much larger scale.

I saw one at the local dealership,looks nice but at $35,000 ,in not into the 4 door thing unless its on my truck,but Not bad..seems funny how all the newer cars seem to follow suite with the GTO style interior..

that g8 interior isn't on par with the gto's though. It's nice....just not as nice. The one my bro and I test drove was a nice car, just not on par with the GTO. When my wife gets ready for a new ride I think that may be our next car.

My friend ownes a Pontiac dealer so in addition to tinting it I had the opportunity to drive it and I mean drive it it is nice. But wait till Nov.when the GXP version comes out . I have read that it is going to have 435hp and avaible it a wild orange. Watch out for it

Not that bad priced for what you get. 35k for mid 13's and still being able to get the grocerys in the back. Not bad except the 4 door. A couple version would be better plus a power increase.

Well from what i heard, since the goats on a hiatis and a new bird no where in site cause of the price to start production they're thinkin about using the g8 coupe, some say they might use it as the new base for a goat, maybe even retro styled. the g8's a good looking car, and i've always loved pontiac, but no matter what when are they going to get a new rear drive v8 coupe? and as nice as the g8 is, the coupe better not be called g8 or pontiacs lost me and i'm not too sure about how it'll be styled

Because of the Camaro, the engineering and testing of the G8 GXP is done and set, which should make the transformation from Holden to Pontiac a breeze. The coupe would ride on the same 114.8-inch wheelbase as the sedan.

Holy Shit that is one bad ride. The window lines look similar to a 3 series not necessaraly happy with that but still that is pretty cool. I kind of has a look of the CTS coupe, and thats not a bad thing.

The GTO drivetrain rides on a 109.8-inch (279-cm) wheelbase, so you can see it will be a bigger car ...

They definitely shouldnt call it a GTO, and I dont think they will. It'll seem like a shameless grab for attention, plus it'll be breaking away from the "G" line...G5, G6, G8...

I saw one on the way to the Cape, and I said to my buddy "Look, its a Commodore!" Then when I got close enough to see the badges, I realized it was just a G8. At that point I punched it, and the dude couldnt even touch me from 40-90. Overall, its not a bad looking car, but for that price I'd probably buy a Caddy SRX or something.

Personally, i like em all. I'm very partial to the bright orange in the first but that front end on the last is reminiscent of the old goats thats kinda growin on me (69's my favorite GTO year)
