Smile 2004 GTO moving side to side at idle

2004 stock GTO, car moves about 1 inch side to side at idle, like waiting for a stop light to turn green. It doesn't do it as much with the A/C on. The engine doesn't move much,so motor mounts must be OK. It's always done it since new and has 7000 miles on it. I've never asked the dealer about this, do all LS1's do this? It runs great and pulls like "Hank the Bear",as a friend of mine would say. Any info would be appreciated.

Yup...cam lope...with the A/C on raises the idle and you do not "see" or feel it so much. Nice aint it. Welcome to the forum man....

Cam lope is a wonderful feeling. Especially with real radical cams.

My front wheels come about 2 foot off the ground at launch and are beating the shit out of my front end. I'm gonna take her in for warranty work.

Well you could down grade to a V6. That would get rid of the side 2 side thing. But what fun would that be?

    Hah!

I was actually thinking about this today...I *thought* it was normal, but wasn't quite sure. Now that I've had my GTO for a couple days, I'm starting to get used to some of its "quirks" and learning what is normal and what isn't.

The cam seems to shake my car a little more when it is cooler outside. I don't know the significance but just the other day my wife asked me "now what have you done to it? Gotta love it.
