04 or 05 GTO??
Is the drive by wire something to worry about? Found a SMOKING deal on an 05. Or is the cable t/b on the 04's a better setup?

Each owner has their own opinion. My advice...when you get your 05, have it looked over for ANY electrical gremlins(gauges, traction control, radio).

artic white- 02' Pontiac Trans am WS6
you should not even think of the 04, forget the issue with the wire vs cable, the 05 has a 4 inch bore 6litre engine that you can put the L92 heads on.
more cubic inched= more power
LS 1's are already outdated

Go for the smoking deal. The LS2 eats oil fast but you just have to watch it.
can't really comment on the drive by wire, some people do think it has its drawbacks though.

I guess I'm spoiled. My car came bastardized. I drove a few LS1 04s, never got on them, drove this one, got on the gas, and I am happy.
extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

the way i think about it is that if you get an ls1 you will upgrade it...and if you get an ls2 ...you will still uprgrade it...its pretty much the same block...anything that you can do to an ls2 you can do to an ls1...just my thought...
