z28 vs sti part 1
so ever since my lil brothers friend got his sti, my brother has been telling me how nice it is. he got it while i was still in wyoming so there wasnt much i could do. well since i got back he has done more mods and has gotton loads better at driving and launching. last nite he comes over to my moms house and we decide to run them. we went from a dig so i got my tires nice and sticky. he sorta f'd up his launch and it bogged but he never once got in front of me. i kept pulling on him and by the time we quite roughly 1/4mile i had 2-3 cars on him. we will rematch and if he launches correctly it'll be damn close. i still think i might pull on him. he is a damn cool kid too, real nice car for only 17 and in high school. his car: 2006 sti, up pipe, down pipe, turbo back exhaust, CAI, access port redone, protune by cobb, and running 18 psi. my car: in sig if you can see it
2002 Z28 M6, Suncoast Creations ram air, port/polish TB w/ bypass and bumpstop, heater hose mod, stainless steel long tubes, ORY w/ dual cutouts, Magnaflow, BMR SFC, UMI Torque Arm, LS7 clutch w/ drill mod, Pro 5.0 w/ Lous short stick, MSD wires, 4.10s, good maintenancehttp://www.fquick.com/blue02z

Monterey Maroon Metalic- 2000 Z28
A kid's first car should be a POS, especially if mom and dad buy it for them. This way if he/she does something stupid and messes it up, it's not too big a deal. But then also when the time comes that they can move on to a nicer car, they can appreciate it more. That's what I did and look how I turned out . Seriously though, that's how it should be.

Well a Z28 isnt nearly as expensive as an STI. And a Z28 is cheaper to repair too.

i think we're referring to having alot of power at a young age. also at my brothers school theres 2 twin girls, supposedly real hot that drive a supercharged range rover sport on 22's lowered

Oh it wasnt the power I was getting at. Its the price of the car. The STI is gonna cost 4x more. So if he fucks it up hes gonna be paying 4x more. And seeing that he likes to race hes not gonna be gentle.

I think a 17 year old is Better off with a AWD car then a RWD car that has any power. But Driving experience is also a +, I Know my first car was a POS Saturn, But my first RWD was my 240sx, It was a Sweet car to learn in, It didn't have much power but enough to kill ya if you let it. Thats were I learned Drifting, Then I moved on to my other toys, The Trans am and such, But then I decided to build the 240 and well now its just a fun toy. But If the kid plays it smart, He could learn alot of actual driving skills from that car. But if he is dumb im sure we will find it in the junk yard one day.

When I was 16 (1997) I drove a '94 Z28 M6 w/ a cam, shorty headers, 4.10 gears, and other mods and I did just fine. By time I was 17, I was playing with the bottle on that very same car. My point is that age doesn't always matter. I know guys older than me that get out there and act stupid.
