From doing a bit of research I've noticed that most of y'all are either dyno tuning or "drive-tuning" and I've also seen quite a few of y'all doing mail-order tunes. What's the difference, what's the most efficient? Come on Cobra guys...

Like I said, the N/A Cobra's sound better than the 03's, as far as smooth listening goes. I equate it to classical vs. heavy metal. Both are good sounds, but one is easier on the ears than the other.

Only thing I don't like about those cars is the interior has been the same since what like 96?

well, they are kinda the same. dyno tuning is as everyone know, tuner gets in the car and adjusts sh*t and keep dyning the car untill he gets everything smooth and nice. mail order tune is, just the same but u guve your mods to them and they send you a tune according to those mods. on most cars it works but i have seen people running rich. generally it works but dyno tuning > mail order tune.

I never like stang interiors either, but then again Trans Ams dont have the best either, better than stangs but my moms Acura TL has a far better looking interior than my T/A. The only cool thing about the cobras is the white gauges with the letters SVT on them

A mail order tune for a N/A car is fine but a mail order tune for a FI car needs to ALWAYS be checked on the dyno. Check the A/F and timing at idle and WOT. Much cheaper than Street tune or Dyno tune.

Dyno tune is just that, better than mail order and 90% of what it needs to be.

Street tune is the best as long as they have a dyno to supply you with numbers. The street tune is with actual car load vs RPM with correct air temps. My tune took 3 hrs to just street tune it. We pulled an 02 sensor and installed a wideband and drove the balls out of it for a few hours. Light launches, full 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear WOT's and cruising tip ins. Perfect, until I did a fuel mod (PPRV delete) and now its a bit rich and needs tip in adjustment.

I will have a Dyno/street tune next so I know its safe for cruising and have a good 700+ number. Adding a little more boost now that I have more fuel.

Dude, for $500 I would have the Pro"s do it. On SVT you see a few posts of homeports where guys LOOSE power. Makes perfect sense when you see these ported eatons still running high 11's.

Amazon does thier porting and tuning to match and they are good for 541 rwhp.

    Good analogy.
I think the wind of the Supercharger is like sweet music to the ears. I miss that sound alot.

I hear them all the time and except for the whine at WOT only, they sound the same to me.

There is an older guy (around 60) at the grocery store near me who has a 2003 Mustang GT and it is the BEST sounding Mustang exhaust set up I have heard. Not sure if it will spin the tires from a roll but it sure will get you nervous pulling up to the light.
As long as he is happy.

I have heard some GTs that sound great but they are still slow, i dont know if its the iron block or the firing order, but stangs do sound better, generally speaking

Thanks, now as for mods go...Can you take a stock cobra, slap a KB and a BAP on there and be good to go? Or are there other supporting mods needed? What's all the concern with the IRS too, by the way? Headers a waste of money? As for a stock eaton, what's the best pulley combo? I have tons of questions so I'll stop there for now...
    Thanks ahead!
