I can't say I've ever saw a Lexus do that good. I guess that's a good enough reason to lose.

    Hmm...
    Lost to:
STi by 4-5 cars from 50mph roll running 19-20psi w/ "full bolt-on's" according to him. Talk about murder.
    - I had cai and pullies - basically bone stock except that.

'02 T/A LS1 by a car and 1/2 to 100 from 40 roll, no idea of mods, exhaust was stock.
    - same, cai + pullies

An '02 LS1 should have murdered you, not beat you by a car and a half...

Your car makes 300Hp at the crank...LS1's put down 300HP at the wheels, and both cars weigh about the same. You must have raced someone that couldn't drive worth a damn, because your car would get killed by an M6 LS1.

*shrug - thats how it went down believe it or not. cai and pullies should've had me putting down around 270-275ish and I was an auto at the time. Maybe his driving skills weren't up to par and his shifting was slow, but he still pulled me.

My cousin has a '00 Z28 Auto bone stock, I was dead even with him from 40-100~ ran again from 60 and I slowly walked away to about slightly over a car in front of him - mods were cai, pullies, and gutted cats at the time. He was as said before, bone stock with himself and a friend. Raced him about 2 weeks later after I got boost controller with 3 extra lbs. of boost, and downpipes hooked up to stock exhaust and put several lengths on him from 50-55~mph.

I have plenty of respect for the LS series engines, trust me. I've been part of f-body boards for quite some time and did want a Z28 in the past. The TTZ has always been my dream car however even though it is older and an underdog these days.

Both of these were in the Stealth, and of course, I knew I would lose both times (they were both roll on races).

    1. Heads / Cammed LS1 Camaro SS (he pulled on me pretty good).
    2. 02 ZO6 Corvette w/ just intake (again, freeway run, pulled me pretty good).
    3. My own 300ZX TT (mods in sig) (barely pulled on my Stealth from a roll).

I won't have a problem with any of these (at those modification levels), once my Stealth is done (will be expecting low -mid 120's traps with a conservative tune).

While I am sure those are both nice, fast cars, it is painfully obvious you don't care for LS1 vehicles. A true import lover.

But all opinions are appreciated, so welcome to the board.

Huh??? Was it something I said? Why do you think I'm here? Thanks for the compliment though.

If you take a look at this thread, it is "painfully obvious" that I know how potent LS1's are.

Don't take it that way, its just that I expect people who post on an LS1 board would think that an LS1 would be worth buying and pouring hard earned cash into it.

I mean, I was in a Mustang club when I had my Cobra, but after I sold it I never saw those people again. Really didn't know them too well anyway. But it wouldn't look right me rolling to the monthly meeting with a Head Cam package Camaro, now would it?

(not to mention it would spank every one of those guys mustangs)

Maybe we can talk you out of those Uncle Ben Specials and into a real man's car!

    LOL!!

I tell you what though, there is not much better than an LS1 when it comes to the cost of modding. My damned Stealth is costing me like $11K in parts / labor over what I have already done to it, to get to the low 11's / high 10's. It would take an LS1, like what, 5 grand (if that, even)?

Damn man, that thing is wicked fast. The Stealth is running 10's? What is the 300ZX running? I take that back, you might want to keep those beasts. (flip-flopping like John Kerry)

I got my Z for real cheap, 8K with full exhaust and almost all the bolt-ons, and gears, welded subframe, all kinds of stuff. People would offer you good money for a Stealth in the 10's, or a worked 300ZX.

No matter what you do to those imports, they will never sound like an LS1 with full exhaust.

People don't need Viagra if they have a boner inducing LS1 soundtrack!

No, the Stealth is not running 10's yet, it's in the process of being built. 10's would be pretty tough, since I'm going for a conservative tune, but definitely mid - low 11's (if I tuned it more aggressively, then yes high 10's would be possible).

I haven't taken the Z to the track yet. It's my daily driver. I would guess it would probably run low 13's because it is a PITA to launch at 109-110 or so (since it slowly pulled on my Stealth from a roll when my Stealth trapped 107.3).

I completely agree about the sound of the LS1, cannot be matched.

After I took all the sound deadening out, and modded like it is now, man I got to put towels down before girls ride now. They were ruining my leather seats with love juice. hahaha

Just a word of warning, although you probably already know this: 3000GT's and Stealths tend to break - a lot. So the faster you make it, and the more mods you do, the higher the chance of things going wrong. They just aren't cut out to be drag cars. So be prepared to be fixing things each time you go to the track, especially with a car that fast
