Black- 2002 Formula Firehawk
Volvo vs Hawk
I was going back home after a car club meeting. I was on the on ramp onto the freeway which is a complete u turn and the posted speed limit is 25. A volvo vehicle tailgates me extremely close, i would say no more than 3 feet behind me. I purposely slow down and let 2nd gear go up to 4k rpm. When we hit the straight away he maneuvers onto the next traffic lane and starts passing me and as he does i floor it and pass him by. I slow down to 50 mph and let him catch up, he matches my speed for about 3 seconds and then he floors it. His jump got me by surprise as he got about 1 car length but as soon as my rpms got to the power range it was over i passed him and left him behind. I dont know what model the volvo was but its a pretty fast car

Is it something you created or is it an actuall GM/SLP Vehicle that was sold that way?

Firehawks were sold in either formula trim or trans am trim depending on how you ordered it

Pre 1999 I thought all Firehawks were Firebird Firehaws, After 1999 I thought they wer Just Rirehawks, But had the Trans Am fog lights and ground effects/wing. But had a special raptor like Ram Air hood (One big single scoop, not the double Trans Am Ram Air scoop) with heat extracter vents on it.
But I have only seen 2 or 3 LS1 Firehawks. I do like the straight round 5 star rims, they are nice looking.

NBM- '98 Ram Air Formula
Realize that SLP began the Firehawk project in 1991 and all early 4th gen Hawks were in Formula trim (I think). At the time SLP was also doing the WS6 modification. It wasn't until later around '99-'00, after ASC began doing the WS6 mods, that Hawks were available in TA trim.

I understand that the Firehawk is differant from a Trams Am, I just thought that the Firehawk was a Firebird Firehawk untill the 98-02 models, then I thought they were all Trans Am Firehawks. The older ones looked more like Firebirds, The newer one looked more like Trans Ams. Fog lights, wing, ground effects, stuff like that. I have seen a orange 94ish or 95ish Firehawk with an LT4 engine and a Firebird front ground effect/fog light setup, and a firebird wing. I have also seen a 1999ish Blue Firehawk with a Trans Am set of Fog lights and ground effects, and a Trans Am wing.
Therefore, I thought that the older Firehawks were from a Firebird base and the new ones from a Trans Am base. I had never heard of a Formulla Firehawk. I do admit I have only seen a few, and I dont know much about the cars.
