From what I have seen...I am VERY close to most KB Cobra's. Haven't actually gotten to line up with one though. Most around here throw a 75-100 shot at it as well....and then my little all motor car can't hang.

Off the bottle, the KB Cobra's ET's are dead even with mine.

BLKCLOUD I'm just interested in what you got in your Cobra when it was "stock motored" - that is, before the RECALL ofcourse. Guys in my town were getting mid-14's @ 99, what about you? No pun, Just curious...

Ignorant is such a harsh word. The quickest out of a stock Shelby GT was Evan Smith's 12.3 run. On average we all know these cars are mid to high 12's. Seems respectable, that is until you figure in the cars rating of 500hp. The 4100-4200lb. curb weight is the downfall, and despite rated @ a whopping 100 hp more than the base vette, a Z51 M6 will run right with it in the straight, and destroy it in the twisties, for thousands less. Once again Ford goes blower to compete with GM's N/A car.

Actually I dont even like Shelby's and I agree with you but you would also be crazy to say its not damn impressive that a 2.8kb on the new Shelby's make 800rwhp. No other mods. Thats insane.

Like saying 400+rwhp with only h/c LS1 is not impressive would be ignorant as well. Blowers dont matter at all. We are talking power here. You can make it in only a few ways. Do you complain when you see top fuel cars with blowers? Hell no, they are awesome. Blower = more power. that simple. If you have a smaller engine, you need extra air. Nothing unusual about that.

You need FI (Nos/Procharger/turbo) on an LS1 to play with modded FI Cobra with a very small engine. Thats even worse.

That's kind of what I was thinking but I have no room to talk.

Also, look at the new C6 Vette. They got over 400HP out of an N/A engine and have been known to run high 11's stock.

Hey don't forget were talkin' GT500 here -- not '03-'04 Cobra. 5.4-liters is not that much smaller than what GM is running. Second, you don't see top fuel cars driving around on the streets. If they did then trust me I would be complaining. And your comment that "Blowers don't matter at all" IS very ignorant. Since when has a supercharger become just a bolt-on???

    I'm pretty sure nobody said stock 99 Cobras run 11.9s @ 112.

N2OLT4....I only ran my 99 twice when 100% bone stock, prior to the recall. First time was at Gainesville, FL in early June 2000. The first several passes were all low-mid 14s @ ~99-100 mph. After I got the hang of it, I eventually went 13.80 @ 102. A few weeks later, it went 13.72 @ 103 mph at Maple Grove Raceway, Reading PA (late June 2000). Those were the only times I ran it in 100% bone stock trim, pre-recall. I never did run in 100% bone stock trim, post-recall. I suspect it would have gone a couple tenths and a couple mph better, but that is only speculation.

here we go with the same tired argument....

    look at the weight difference.

    twisties...doesnt matter. price...doesnt matter.

weight matters. 3100 vs 4100. get it?

and all of chevy's 8 cylinders are in block cam and displace a good amount more.

i agree that the new shelby is a pig but lets not speak so matter of factly here because you can crank up the boost, throw some dr's on and be low low 12s respectively.
