turbo ls 240sx vs turbo mustang + video
Went to the track last night to run our local street class called true street. Basically its a run wat u brung hope u brought enough on drag radials and stock suspension. There full street cars not drag cars. My 240 went 7.23@99mph, I have a fuel issue and it kept nosing over 150ft before the finish line. The mustang went 7.92@94mph, he said his car was popping.
I had the 240 de-tuned, I have the wrong ign box so I cannot take timing out for boost yet. So this pass was on 3.5-4psi. We had some good races last night. Had a blast, next time I go I'm shooting for 6.00

Lol, thanks, its kinda transformed this past year. Hard to hide it all , I can't wait to get it tuned on 18-19psi + some new drag radials and the transbrake launch. My et streets I ran last night are so wore out there down to the nylon now. It started spinning out of the hole a lot towards the end of the night.

I think I figured out why it was laying over. My current setup I have a dual feed line on the carb fed from one -6 line off my regulator, my regulator has a place for 2 -6 feed lines. My problem is its trying to fill the front bowl as fast as the 2nd bowl and its running the 2nd bowl dry. I need to come out of my reg with 2-6 lines feeding each bowl separate. Guess this is how u learn ur mistakes lol.

I went to the track thinking its going to be a hand full. But I was totally surprised, it went straight as an arrow. I've never drove one with as much power + light weight as it makes and it go as straight as it does. Let's just hope it stays this way when I add more boost

What sort of differential you run in that? Stock or modified to a solid axle?

Its stock independent suspension, rear end is welded with factory 4.08 gears. I have another differential I built with 3.56 gears if I need it.

Cool beans. How much power do those things hold up to?

The rear end itself is bullet proof, but the axles are the weak link. I've personally have broke a few sets myself. I've figured out over a few yrs the axle angles play a huge roll on what they will and will not hold. So far I have put down over 500 @ the tires and its held fine since I've made a few angle changes. I plan on putting 600-650 @ the tires with this setup.

It is a small turbo its a 60mm, it makes more tq than anything which is what I need running 1/8th mile.

The air was horrible that day, we was looking @ 4500 above sea, + I later found (next day) my brakes was dragging bad. I kinda noticed it but didn't have a chance to check it out. Found my nut back off my brake pedal and the rod was tight, I loosened it 1/2". The car rolls SO much better now. I bet the car picked up nearly .500 just due to brakes. I will get the bugs worked out. Its been a long project.

Ya ur right it can be made up in the gearing. A buddy of mine has been Busting these guys ass that has 90-106mm turbo's with his small turbo like mine. He's gone before there's gets spooled up they trap A LOT more mph, but he has such a good 1st half track they cannot catch him. Its all about the combo, will see how far this setup goes, I may change turbo's later on. I've left plenty of room on everything to upgrade.
