Took the cobalt out on 39th

Well we went out to 39th street this past Saturday, and since my car is running bald street tires until the new wheels get here. We decided to take the cobalt ss!
It's an 05 stage 2 ss, bone stock other than the kit.
When we first get there we pass the 711 at Reno and see a custom paint cobalt ss and ask if he wants to race, and his friend has a turbo power stroke. We race from a dig to 110 and beat the cobalt by 4-5 cars, then beat the powerstroke by about 7.

Then we lined up with an srt4 and pulled him pretty hard.

The best race of the night was a 98z28 a4 lid 2.73s and a flowmaster(nothing special) but from a 30 they were tied!!!

The cobalt is really impressing me.... We may have to line it up with my trans am!

Yea those cobalts can be quick. The new turbo ones have awesome performance.

I considered one for a DD aswell but living in Wisconsin i opted for AWD and a turbo and went with subaru. My car has stock dp/up with cats removed and tuning and went a 13.67 in the 1/4mile with an auto tranny. Best trap speed is a hair under 103mph.

i almost bought a subie before i got the ss. i think it was a 05 with a whole lotta shit. something like 425hp to the wheels or something like that

I find them sometimes for 5k around here. But i dont think i would want one for a DD they are not very reliable.

yeah i was trying to get up there but i was moving into my new house so i ran out of time. but i will be up there for sure this weekend

I got a nasty ticket up there one night racing people in my Twinturbo 300Z . Never went back. That has to have been 6 or 7 years ago. Wow.
