I know a good deal about these cars and that doesn't make any sense. Stock they dyno around that on 87 octane so tuned for 93 should make a big difference. I have seen it myself on numerous occasions so there is something material missing from your post. I'm betting it either wasn't tuned for 93 because they do have an 87 tune or it was on a Mustang dyno. Since you said it was a 5 speed does help much since the auto is a 5 speed as well.

^sorry, 5 sp. manual tranny, naw man, this wasn't a mustang dyno, it was a dynojet dyno. waynes dyno and performance on hwy 258, just outside jacksonville, NC. The shop is actually run by a stang fan, who did the tuning on site. Maybe they have hit or miss cars like the LS1, ya know turds and freaks on the dyno.

That's real sad if that is the case. I might have to ask for a refund. I have never seen an LS1 be a turd on a dyno. The first time I saw one on the dyno, it hit just over 300 rwhp and I think it only had a lid, my eyes almost popped out. All I could think of was GM has been a liar for years with their numbers.

not sure about the mustang but i had an svt contour with the v6 a while back and you could put both 87 and 93 octane.....the computer adjusted for the lack of octane

If said car is only putting down 250rwhp, something is horribly wrong. Running off 6 cylinders maybe. They are dynoing high with a tune because Ford tune from the factor is pig rich and with the new throttle setup, the 05 stang doesnt see true WOT until after the tune.

^why would it be so rich from the factory, that would hurt gas/epa ratings, thus adding price and regulations to the car.??????

no idea, its in the 12/1 12.5/1 range. Maybe because they know people like to mod the crap out of them?

Raced my buddies 05 GT. I beat him from a dead stop. by the time i hit second I had 1 car link on him. finished at third with about 5 links on him. His is a manual and mine is an M6. You can read my minor mods at the bottom. His GT has no cats, with magnaflow duals. I have ridden in his car a bunch of times, it just doesn't pull like the SS in any gear.

    I seen a 05 gt. dyno

I seen a 05 gt with the man. trans here in KC. on a dynojet pull 285hp. and 280tq. all stock except it did have a dynotune, from supertune here in kc. I ended up running him at the track at kcir. and lost to him by 1/10th of a sec.
and that is when I dynoe'd at 265hp. and 302tq. I was running pig rich. and I have an auto, with 323's in it...he did trap higher though, his 102 to my 99mph.

well, don't feel bad it was still kinda close considering your car is 12 years old, has miles on it and he had you in power, you did well

the 05 mustangs are a peice of, well you know. I raced a couple at GLD and they were running mid to low 14's. When my 99 z-28 was stock I was running mid 13's, actually 13.4, which was on a hot day. Now I run mid to high 12's. The best 05 mustang that I saw ran 14.3.

    LS1...Pony killer

I smoked a 05 Stang GT on the highway this summer. My 2004 GTO was screaming! We ran up to about 140 MPH and he was definately in my rearview. I was very happy because I almost bought an 05 Stang GT.

Yeah I was pretty suprised I hung that close, I just wish I couldve beaten him...well maybe when I get the 373's in,new exhaust cutout then I can get one....there is two dyno shops around kc..one is called mcracing..phone is 913-789-9888. they are at southwest boulevard and antioch.. and then there is supertune where I go, they are a great bunch of guys they are right off of 162nd. and metcalf. there number is 913-814-7243. they both are around 80.00 for 3 pulls with the a/f reading, and both of them can dynotune your ls1...

Anyways, I got two neighbors that have 05 GTs also. They swear they kick LS1 ass and that these cars engines and 5-spd aren't the same crap as before. I know the engines are different(3valves and all). Their word is that Ford underrated them and they really are closer to 350hp.
I dunno, I killed one with my stocker 6 speed. He ran me twice to make sure it wasn't a fluke. The result, he had a more pissed off look on his face the second time.
