STI vs Camaro Z28 98+
So me and my friend got in this debate which is faster. I told him from 0-60 its faster due to AWD. He said they can do 12.7 in the 1/4 completely stock. I said bullshit with only 300HP. He believes they are faster all the way around. I tell him no. Which is it really?

depends on the year.. brand new one.. they should pull you by about a length MAYBE two in the 1/4 GRANTED they can launch it..
after the 1/4 you would start catching up and passing pretty quick.

Okay good to hear then. I was gonna say how is a 300HP car that much faster than a 340HP Not to mention we have a ton of torque more. And just a bit lighter.

I use to have a AWD TSI talon and I use to love going from a dig. Even with 150+ more HP worth my WS6 now the AWD just snaps you neck back from a dig on the streets. I have taken STI's, with my current setup after I get past the wheel spin but they will have you for the the first 60 ft.

traction will be the biggest componet in this race and with him being awd he might take you granted he can drive

I just want to mention that just because it has less power doesn't mean it is slower. I can put a dsm in the 12's with it being near stock and probably somewhere around 230whp and stock weight.

OMG!!!! what year is it!!??? makes abig diff.. brand new one, if he knows how to launch it, by the end of the race you probably wont catch back up.. and older one, if he knows how to launch it.. you will pass him at 100mph..
a roll your going to destroy him, period...

Vert isnt that much more weight. Sucks that AWD makes that big of a difference from a dig....

If you can drive, you'll beat him from a dig. Most of the stock STI's at the track run high 13's/low 14's. It takes a skilled driver to run one into the low 13's.
No STI has ever hit 12.7 stock, so thats just plain bullshit.
If you really want to destroy him, go from a roll, it will look like he's going backwards
They aren't powerful cars by any means, they just get off the line quickly.
