Rhino's GTO vs Cammed Mustang GT

I was cruisin on my usual route through town when I see this GT pulling out of walmart. It had some exhaust on it cause i could hear him like a block away.

Before i forget, my GTO has Kooks LTs, Custom X-Pipe, & Tune.

When we got behind him at the stoplight me and my buddy noticed his full stock exhaust. So we were thinking maybe he had a cam with no cats or something. No telling exactly what he had under the hood but when the light turns green he takes off fast. I just keep cruisin and let him show off, so now he has about a quarter mile on me when i start to catch up...I was doing about 85 to catch up. When i caught up we were doing 70 mph i put it in fourth and started to come even...At about a half a car left he punches it in third. As soon as i see his front end pop up i put it to the floor in fourth. I immediately start to pull on him and at 130 mph I had about a car and a half.

So from 70 to 130 i pulled two car lengths on him...I think it was cammed cause mustangs usually dont put up that good of a fight from a roll.

Should have been able to hear a whirl or whine from a s/c

Some supercharger make almost no noise.

My stepdad has a Hellion Single Turbo kit on his 2006 GT(487WHP 488TRQ). Car runs 11.4s@122 and its run through stock exhaust(No cats so its a little louder). Car looks totally stock except for the big hood on it. That guy you ran could have been turboed. Stepdads car runs 11.4s@122 though.

Not too many cammed 3V (2005-2010) Mustangs around. They do exist, but rare. Not quite as rare, but still not common, would be a 2V Mustang.

Perhaps it was just a good-running "bolt-on" car?

He also left in 4th, so if he would have went to 3rd he would have pulled at least a car even before the him and Mustang had to shift.

Nice kill.

This sounds similar to when Rhino and I raced. Since newer mustangs are pretty close to stock LS1s now, maybe he just had the cats off? When I find this mustang running around I'll stop him and talk to him and find out whats up with this car.

Then I'll post my own kill story about it too...

It looked like it was the stock mufflers and tips...I think he either had headers with no cats, or a cam with no cats...It was pretty loud. But not as loud as mine hehehe.
