im not saying i dont like nitrous..i just think you should have told him your mods when you got done beating him..a win is a win..there is no doubt about that

I dont know why you dont think it could hang on a roll, people have already trapped 105-108mph which is dead on with a stock ls1 trap speed.

Im not saying the vq engine is better than the ls1 or i would be looking for a 350z not a ls1 car right now.
could you show me where a 370 traps 108?

plus a street roll race doesn't end at the 1\4. the faster you go, the farther behind the 370 will be

It hasnt been recorded yet, but all mags have gotten 105-106 and they did the same with ls1 cars when they came out. Now people have run half a second faster and 2-3mph faster than the mags said we would with ls1 cars. Guys with 07+ HR 350zs get 13.2s @ 105mph, so why cant a car thats weighs over 100lbs less and makes 30more hp and more trq with the same powerband run a couple miles per hour faster? guys add headers, catback and intake to the ls1 car gain 30hp and trap 110mph when they trapped 106ish stock. I know because i did with my 2000 T/A, so why cant you add that power to the 370z and cut weight and run faster trap speeds?

Because everyone knows the VQ engines don't respond well at all to bolt ons. You can add intake, headers, full exhaust, whatever, it does next to nothing because Nissan already squeezed almost every possible horsepower out of the engine from the factory.

    didn't evan smith run a 108 or 109 with a stock ls1 at 12.89?

you are taking the fastest possible unrecorded times for a 350 or 370 and comparing them to average or below average times for an ls1 car.

you should be comparing them to around 13.1ish @ 108-109 mph for a stock ls1. this is not unheard of.

Most people don't, (from my experience). A race is a race, win or lose.

Nothing cheap (money wise) about nitrous. A good system set up properly can easily set you back $2500 or more doing it in a way I would be comfortable with.
It's just not as simple as throwing on a plate kit and pressing a button. Uuuhh well maybe for some people I guess,,,for a short time

Bolt on's are bolt on's but when nitrous is figured in,,,it's classed as a power adder just like a blower or turbo.
With nitrous things take on a whole new meaning, because that car is inducing more oxygen than is available in the atmosphere,,,a clear advantage over any naturally aspirated setup. And they surely aren't classed together in any sanctioned racing event that I'm aware of.

I don't see nitrous as a fair comparison to an NA setup. Not sure if someone actually came out and said that, but it seems things were going in that direction from what little I read. Quite frankly this post is getting to be too much to read anyway, a 370Z doesn't really peak my interest.

It would make more sense to me to see the smaller less powerfull engine using nitous to even up the odds to a more favorable and more powerfull larger engine on motor only. But hey,,,it's run what ya brung.

puts 240rwhp down on a dyno STOCK...its underrated...4400lb truck 0-60 in 7.7 ...not sure why they would underrate it..dosnt make sense to me...after joining the clubxterra forum i learned a lot though....the truck is a fantastic opposite to my z28

Thats not even what i was comparing. I meant my ls1 picked up almost 4mph when i added 30hp to it and the 370z has 30more hp and 100 less lbs than the 350z so whos to say it cant pick up 3-4mph over the 105mph the 350z is trapping. The 370z does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, rusn the 1/4miels in 13.3 in a magazine and traps 105-106 in mags. Most ls1 cars go 13.2-13.8 and trap 105-107mph so why wouldnt it be a good race, why would the 370z get rapped from a dig or a roll when they have damn near the same times. The truth is whether you want to believe it or not its a drivers race stick vs stick.

Yes he did, and no the 350z times i was talking about have been recorded numerous times. The 07+ 300hp 350z has run 13.2 @105 numerous times. So whos to say the same car with more power and less weight cant do 13.0flat at 106-108mph numerous times? Hell just in 0-60 time the 370z has picked up .3 over the 07 350z.

1/4 is nothing like a dig race or a roll race..those tend to go 120+..that is where the ls1s shine(f-bod,gto,vette) so the 370z might be close for 13 seconds..but then they will get walked.

I would agree that after 110ishmph the z would get pulled more and more but who says most dig or roll races go over 120mph. So almost everytime you race you go over 120mph? I usually top out 3rd in my m6 unless its a freeway race which in most cases i would start in 3rd and top out 4th. At the top of 4th my T/A vs any 350z i have come across that wasnt spraying or boosting i will have a 5-15 cars on. But thats a pretty fast speed and i rarely go that fast. When im out at the street racing spots unless its a setup race i usually stop around 100ish.

Ok so where are these roll races you were talking about where you go to 120+mph happen?

I'd say thats very extreme and very few and far between. Going that fast isn't necessary in a show of speed on the street.

Most encounters I've been in are usually over by the time you hit 60 or 70 tops. Once one car or the other starts to pull ahead then it's obviously been shown to me which one is making the most power and it's time to shut down.

Trying to keep running someone down up to triple digits is completely stupid and proves nothing.

I agree. Most street racing ends by about 3rd gear. Usually you can tell who's gonna win by the time 2nd gear is through but id say 3rd is normal.

can you show me a 350z running 13.2?

and just because you THINK a car will run faster doesn't mean it will.

350z's normally are no match for a stock ls1. especially once you get moving. i dont see the 370z with slightly more power being much different. you can make up for the horrible power curve with steeper gears all you want, but once you really get moving torque is king. and if torque is king then the 370z in the jester.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Nissan-350Z...lip-10735.html This one has mods but its an auto with just an intake and exhaust and it went a 13.1 with only 234something rwhp.

There are more on nissan forums of guys with real world driving

Listen im not trying to say the 350z is a better 1/4mile or top end car. Im just saying the 370z isnt gonna get beat by bus lengths by stock ls1 cars. Like you believe
