And speak of comparing the 370z to the LS1, the best magazine time I ever saw for a WS6 Trans Am was 13.4 in the 1/4.

Those same magazines are showing 13.3 for the 370z. Its not a bad a car in any respect. They have plenty of low end torque, as well. I'm not sure what you are talking about, Wesman.

If you want to compare apples with apples, compare the 2010 Camaro to the new 370Z. Then you can have your modern, high quality interior with your power.
well i have never said the vq was a better engine..but your fighting like i did...i said for a 3.7...the vq makes good numbers.
also i am not going to argue with you about the 10' maro...that is a great machine...and might possibly be my next car..that or a g8.

For people who appreciate tradition, its easy to give the nod to a Z car, and laugh at a low-quality, turbo Neon.

No, it won't. LS1 is still faster than the 370Z, dig or roll. LS1 has much more torque, as well as better top end.

Best time recorded for a stock LS1 F-body was a 12.9. Theres been so many tests and articles you could post numbers all day, regardless though they have run much faster than 13.4.

The 370Z definitely had a lack of low end power when I rode in one. Numerous reviews have stated the same thing, its only a 3.7L and its tuned for a 7500RPM redline. Torque is not going to be its strong point.

I'm not impressed by Nissan's 3.7 because it has no advantages. It sounds like crap, has a narrow powerband, and its very rough. Plus it doesn't get any better fuel economy than an LS engine, despite the fact that its much smaller.

GM's new 3.6 DI is a very smooth engine, and it gets 30MPG highway. So it actually serves a purpose in the lineup.
my 07 nissan xterra with the 4.0L is VERY smooth and is just a stroked version of the 3.5L

yes but it only makes 261 peak hp @5600 rpm, with it's peak torque of 280 @ 4000

it wont be as peaky, as it was designed to be more of a torque engine than a high RPM screamer like the 370z engine

Ok and i have seen 07+ 350zs go 13.2 stock, so why cant the 370z go high 12s when its lighter and makes more power with the same powerband. The ls1 is obviously a superior engine when its comes to power and the ability to make power no one argues that here. But the 370z can and will run high 12s low 13s once real drivers get there hands on them and trap 105-108mph. Those times and trap speeds are good enough to give any stock ls1 car a run for his money, dig or roll.

a 370 will not run with a stock ls1 from a roll. that's just silly. how can it with around 80 less ft\lbs of torque and 20 less hp?

There is more to speed than power, the 370z has much more steep gearing which keeps it at peak power the entire time while racing and also husts gas mileage, it also only weighs 3200lbs touring loaded model compared to a ws6 or ss with full options being close to 3600lbs. I dont know why you dont think it could hang on a roll, people have already trapped 105-108mph which is dead on with a stock ls1 trap speed.

Im not saying the vq engine is better than the ls1 or i would be looking for a 350z not a ls1 car right now.

Lol, some cars run off nos only. Alot of the big boys use NOS and they have more money into the tuning and the NOS system than you have in your whole car so how is it cheap?

I cant stand when people say nitrous is cheap. I completely agree with the OP when he says that he asks people to unbolt their mods if they ask him to unbolt his. A mod is a mod! Some choose to go FI, some choose to use nitrous! the person who says running nitrous is cheap is full of fuckin ignorance and needs to shut up. Seriously, if your stock fbody lost to another full bolt on fbody, would you flip shit and tell them to unbolt everything and run again like people do when they find out your running nitrous? Get fuckin real, take the loss, and realize the other persons car is faster. As long as you dont lie about your mods and how you beat him then everything is legit.

He was stupid to not even ask what your mods are. Proves he doesnt know shit. good kill

amen/\/\/\ Atleast you see it my way, and I think N20 is more expensive than T/C or S/C over time simply because I will always have to keep refilling my bottles and the price of a good kit is not that cheap either, not to mention supporting mods(fuel pump, tuning, etc.)
