question 05gt vs 99 TA
Which car would win, I only think he has exhaust (he doesnt live around here so I cant race him right now) but he is a M6 and im an A4? Ive got 3.73 gears with, ws6 hood/ramair air box, and an SLP lid.

I think you will blow him away with a good launch...or from a 40 roll.
Take his money lol.

Heres the secret to winning this race, put you feet on the gas and brake and get your rpms to about 2000. Then let off the brake and push they pedal to the floor, now in this case it doesnt really matter if you slam the pedal or gently slide it to the ground, then watch him fall back in your mirrors. Now this is the most important part, watch his face as he falls back in your mirrors when you see a single tear drop fall let off the gas, that is the point where you have forever crushed his pride and spirit. Hopefully with any luck he will hang himself later in shame.

If you lose, there's somethin the matter w/ your car. Unless of course you lose traction big time or he's the worlds most awesome driver. Out of LS1 territory though..... Let us know.

It'll be closer then some of you think...when you say exhaust does he have headers? The 3v S197 isn't a joke by any means so don't gaff off your driving...if you mess up he will win.

I usually pull these cars hard, even if they have headers and exhaust. If you do spin too much then all you have to do is catch up, shouldnt be too hard

It's funny because when the S197 GT's first hit the streets, I actually heard some owners state they've pulled several LS1's. But everytime I see them @ the track there not a whole lot quicker then the previous GT's. A high 13.7 is the quickest i've seen out of a bone-stock M5 in the past couple years, and we all know that's not pullin' an LS1. Most run high-high 13's @ around 101-102, so there really nothing to worry over.

wow man. people here sounds like 3v S197 is like 15-16 sec car.
it is damn close race i will tell you that. I raced an M6 LS1 with my old 06 stang GT beat him 3 times and he got me once.
oh BTW, i ran 13.4@103 with my stock S197. you should edge him out but not like some guys sounds like you are gonna put a good 10 cars on him. they have no idea about S197s and commenting about them.
you are A4, all you gotta do is floor it and pray. about him. if he is a bad driver, u will own him, if not, you will see his front bumper right next to you the end tire time. MAYYBBEE tail lights!!

Visit streetfire and you will see many S197's get ran by LS1's all day. Those cars are putting down 250-270 at the rear-wheels on average - Steeda got 267 out of a bone-stock M5 '05 and that was the highest i've seen. Not enough for an LS1 bud.

all I am saying is, if the GT driver knows how to drive, a stock a4 LS1 will NOT go away from it as quick as you think.
i have raced a couple stock LS1s at track with my old 06 GT, got beat by both. one had M/Ts on and ran 13.3 and he was like 2 cars on me. another one was on street tires and both of us cut 2.0 60' i was on his bumper or closer. i ran 13.6@102mph and he ran 13.5 104mph
an LS1 is good for low 13s but not everybody can get them to low 13s just like an S197 is good for mid 13s and people are running high 13s, low 14s all day long.
good luck.

well I do have 3.73 gears and a lid, not sure HOW much of a diff that will make but im not 100% stock. And if need be I can put my ws6 hood on with the ram air air box.
