It's going to take a blower or a really big shot of N20 on that Escalade before you have anything to worry about. I'd definitely listed for any suspicious whining noise before running! In my experience, I've found that those who are willing to drop $65K on a nice vehicle like that are also perfectly willing to drop an extra $7K on a blower! HAHA!

If he only has CAI and exhaust, go ahead and walk him....it shouldn't even be remotely close (unless you roast the tires through third gear).

My DD is an SS Trailblazer and I have raced the new 425 HP escalades at the track.....no contest. My TB ran 13.8 and the escalade was stuck in the upper 15's.

Even if he has a blower its still a joke, a blower can only make a 17sec SUV so fast. I doubt the guy even knows what a blower is if he thinks he can beat a LS1 with a Escalade, guy sounds like a tool, why risk street racing and getting cought on a damn Escalade ? This is one of the gayest "soon to be kill" whatevers I have ever heard of in my life.........................

    Gone:2001 Camaro SS #4846

This is kinda like the recent thread about minivans challenging F-bodies off the line.

Most people have never ridden in a car that runs as hard as an LS1 powered car.

To them, their V6 minivan or V8 SUV feels like a veritable rocket. They probably honestly believe that they can run with a Camaro/Firebird since they can easily "Chirp the tires".

I used to have a Contour SVT for a DD and people riding with me constantly commented on extremely powerful/fast it felt. It was a low 15 sec, high 14 on a good day with a tailwind car. Yet to their perception it was fast.

So, your neighbor with the 6.0 V8 Escalade (15 sec vehicle) probably does think he has the goods. It is probably MUCH faster than whatever he had before, therefore ready to own the street!

Stay next to him so he thinks he has a chance for a second or 2, then drop the hammer

Get ready for multiple excuses as to why he lost.

my buddy has a basically stock ta and stock converter and he '60s under 2.00 sec! You don't need a fancy one unless your racing professionally. As a matter of fact you don't need to use it to use it against this truck.

    I'd watchout...I Procharged my '96 Suburban (350 Vortec) about 2 years ago, and I ran a 14.2 last summer.

    450 HP + 5500 lbs = 12.22 lbs per HP

    325HP + 3417 lbs = 10.51 lbs per HP

This is just a generalization, but it shows that just with a Procharger (bolt-on), a tune, and stock 3.73 Gearing, that trucks can be quick...don't underestimate them.
