New 2010 Stang GT

    New 2010 Stang GT

    I was on 295 South in Jax cruisin to Atlantic when I passed a Neon Blue(Bright ass blue I dunno what it's called) 2010 GT with dark tint on the buckman Bridge. He did nothing to indicate that we were racing. I went on about my way for a mile or so and I looked back to see the Stang coming up in my rearview. I eased over to the right to let him pass. He got next to me riding out third gear and got on it and went past me(I had a car in front of me or I would have bitten.) I passed the car in front of me, and the Stang slowed up to about 55-60. I knew what was up so I lined up next to him. I pointed ahead so he went then I went. I pulled on him almost immediately. Beat him by 2 1/2 cars to 110. We lined up again after. He went again. No cars in front so I did not let him pass me. We went to 125 this time and I beat him by 3 1/2 cars. We got to Atlantic and before I turned off I looked over and it was a 20 something year old girl driving with a big ass smile on her face. I waved at her and got off on my exit. It was a blast. My mods are full bolt ons 373s and a cam. I was impressed with the new stang.

    I checked your sig in the profile it says you have 379rwhp, just wanted to check and see if thats for the WS6 you got now, ive seen you've had a few rides in the past. Also was the stang modded, if it even had all the bolt ons it should've lost pretty bad against what you got. Given some of the dyno numbers ive seen on the 2010 stangs they are a bit underatted and pull around 280rwhp. Either way you got the kill but closer then i thought it would be.

    I have the same car. I dont know if the stang was modded or not. I did let her get the jump both times because I kinda knew I was gonna win

    Wow, something don't seem right here Wood.

    I ran a friends 2007 GT. He has 3.73 gears and a 5spd auto. He has wider tires (285), a Flowmaster exhaust, a K&N CAI and a Superchips tune.

    My car has Nitto DR's, a lid and the FRAM mod, Magnaflow catback and a Diablosport Predator tune. I'm an A4 with 2.73 gears.

    At the track I put 6-7 cars on him and I'm moving almost 5 mph faster than him.

    As a guess I'd say I'm around 325-330 rwhp.

    I also raced a 2010 GT from a roll at lower speeds than you, 35- 90. I opened between 3 and 4 car lengths on him twice. Second time was about 50-95.

    You have 50 more rwhp than me, you should have beat her by bus lengths. Were you playing nice with her????

    At the track you had dr's and the stang probably had street's right? who gets who out of the whole? Besides its the street anything is possible as always.


    Nice op I would have driven back over on the freeway to get a number or a pic

    I thought it was a dude at first or I would have played nicer than I did.

    Eh, My car has 140,000 miles on it and It has been a while since the tune. It probably needs to be tuned again. Plus, I was letting her get the jump every time by maybe a half car or so then reeling her in. Her car had a non factory stripe package though, so maybe she had some shit done to it. I dunno. First new stang I have run.

    I pull like a motherf$^#er on the 2005-2009 stangs so I figured these were 373 gears from the factory or something the way it kept up.

    Ha ha I wish. My wife would have driven by at that exact moment or something and I would have gotten yelled at both for racing and flirting.

    I hope i can get a chance to race one, lots of mustang peeps saying the 2010 stang is really fast and will beat an LS1. I think even one with full bolt ons wont pass 320-330rwhp if that. The gearing on them make a big difference some will have the 3.73 gears from the factory which really helps. Either way i see plenty of stangs and it should be only a matter of time running into the 2010 stang.

    I had DR's, 245 width 16" Nitto's.

    He had 285 width Michelin PS2's.

    My 60's were 1.85-1.92. His were 1.95-1.99.

    That particular run I had a 1.92 to his 1.97.

    Yeah I got out of the hole better than him. Then I spanked him the whole way down the track.

    What I'm saying is, Wood's car should trap 115 plus mph. The Mustang is going to trap at 105. Wood should have obliterated the Mustang. Either his isn't running right or the Mustang is modified.

    My car trapped 113-114 last time I ran it. Who knows. I have a different stall and a new trasmission, but that shouldn't make too much difference. I'm getting the car tuned next time Jeremy Formato is in town so I'll see what it dynos now.
